How to COOK content or run the UNCOOKED version?

We bought ARK on Steam and its never worked to launch the program, just showing an error with Shooter Game. Now there is this message:
"The global shader cache file ‘/Users/apple/Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/common/ARK/ShooterGame.app/Contents/UE4/Engine/GlobalShaderCache-GLSL_150.ES2.bin’ is missing
You’re running a version of the application built to load COOKED content only, however no COOKED content was found. Considering cooking content for this build, or build and run the UNCOOKED version of the application instead "

How to COOK content or run the UNCOOKED version? Does anyone know? amazing that Steam Support dont Support AT ALL!!!

This error seems to be from having corrupt game data. Something in UE4 is causing it to treat the game as an unfinished modification. Cooking and Uncooked data are references to UE4's way of data structure. This is something the modding community understands but if you are loading the base game and getting this error my thought is your firewall maybe blocked some files or keys needed to determine file authenticity. Re-verify game data and if that doesnt work, delete it, disable firewall and antivirus and re-download.

why the #### would steam sell a $30.00 game for mac that you cant even play on a mac.
i have the same problem. steam makes it so hard to contact them or email a complaint that i just wasted $30 dollars a notification that tells me i can't play the ####### game.

I seem to have a less-than-sufficient video card/chip in my Mac as well, but I decided to see if I could fix this issue and put the game to minimal graphics somehow. And- good news- I may have made some headway that could possibly help those with the proper hardware specs.
I managed to dig into the game's local files, and it seems that the shader file MAY have been given the wrong name. I found a file named GlobalShaderCache-GLSL_150.bin - very similarly named to the file that Steam can't find, GlobalShaderCache-GLSL_150_ES2.bin. Renaming it to what the launcher was looking for made the error message go away; even though my game crashed a few seconds afterward, the lack of an error message asking for the file without the _ES2 in its name makes me think that I corrected at least ONE error.

Here's how I did it, in case any Mac users with powerful enough video cards wish to try:
1. Launch Steam, and make sure ARK: Survival Evolved is fully downloaded and installed. Go to your Steam Library.
2. Find ARK: Survival Evolved in your Library sidebar and right-click it. In the pop-out menu that appears, click "Properties".
3. In the Properties window, go to the "Local Files" tab and select "Browse Local Files..."
4. Once the Finder window pops up showing the "ARK" folder with just ShooterGame.app in it, right click ShooterGame.app and select "Show Package Contents" from the pop-out menu. Now you're in the game files.
5. Follow this path through the game contents: Contents>UE4>Engine
6. You should see the misnamed file. Right-click it, select "Rename" from the popout menu, and add the _ES2 it's missing. Exit your Finder windows and launch ARK from Steam.
