Taming the new Quetzal
So, since the new Quetzal is not an aggressive bird, it will be hard to tame alone. Do they even land? How will you tame a Quetzal if you're in a single player world? Do you really need to be carried by another player for you to catch up to it and shoot it?

I saw this video, he had tamed a Quetzal with his friend, then they flew it up on to the edge of the map and his bird that was on top of the platform disappeared and his friend died and lost his stuff, will this be fixed?

Ohh, you watch Sl1p! Probably will be fixed, but for now enjoy it and say you want to take your enemies for a nice ride as a peace offering!

another thread mentioned you could carry a scorpion with your argent and use that to knock out if your alone

Well that's nice, so the scorpion will have to be on what attack my target or neutral aggressive or something?

I suppose taming a very low level one to use as a shooting platform to get your ideal one could work. They gain stamina when dismounted in the air so you would never have to land while chasing.

People have had success using scorpions carried by argents to take them down. Frogs do not work... but Pachys might.

Full agressive since you do not want to attack the quetz with your argent. Also need good stamina to keep in flight long enough.

I managed to tame one by getting it stuck on a mountain, I followed it until it was close to the mountainside, then I got off my Argent and shot an arrow at it, the thing bolted straight into the side of the mountain and got itself stuck between two rocks. I don't know just how repeatable this is but I got pretty lucky and tamed it with damn near zero-effort.

ive heard that u can do it with a quick argy and then grab one of your scorpions (have narcotics in the scorpions iv to deal more torpor) and just fly over the quetzal and let the scorpion hit on the quetzal

Old post dude XD, best way of doing it is trapping it on another quetzyl and downing it.

I found the Parachute, tranq Dart combo effective. make 10 Parachutes and 30 darts. have either an Argy or a Pteranadon follow you. jump off and parachute gun the quetzal. once it goes down, get back on quickly and protect it fast. first time I did it, the quetzal fell into a pack of Carnos.
