Thatched roof on wood house

I'm making a small log cabin and I want it to look nice. I don't like the look of the wood sloped roof, it's something you just don't see anywhere in RL. Some shingles on it would be much better. This isn't a high security facility, it's just wood anyway. Can you think of a reason why I shouldn't just put thatch on the roof? Probably better for keeping the rain out than wood planks!

I use Thatch on mine because I like the Aesthetic. I also dye it Brick.

Even if security was an issue, you can put wood ceiling up, then put sloped thatch roof over that. So that someone can't punch thru your roof to get in.

another reason is... if u dont log in for a while, the thatched roof has the least amount of time before someone can come destroy it...
