Fastest land mount?

What is the fastest land mount? I heard the Female Megaloceros was pretty good...

Yeah, I think they may be the fastest. I don't know though, if you count jumping, the roo may be faster just because of the jumping. I'd have to test it though.

Toad, its tech slower thana female dear, but the dear is WAYYYYYY slower in water, making the Toad faster being as if it lands in water like a river pond or lake you wont get ganked by piranha or just awkwardly slow swim speed.

If you build the deer fast enough, you can effectively jump across a river. :) My deer can jump across the river that is south of the volcano. Good luck on any frogs that want to race her...I put most points in speed and some in hp.

Female Deer>Deer>Raptor>Saber/direwolf

But if you add Jump safety you get:

Toad>Roo>female deer>deer>saber>direwolf>raptor

If you want a Jack of all:

Toad - for PvP
Direwolf - for PvE if you prefer damage
Megalocero Male/Saber - for PvE if you prefer defense

Galiminius may in the future become the best scouting mount, the pteradon of the land

once you level speed the roo is the fastest ground mount in game followed by the female megaloceros

My deer is a faster swimmer than my toad at its 230 speed

This, Giga ftw. Fast enough to escape attackers is good. Doesn't need to escape attackers, even better.

Actually...that is incorrect. I've tested it.

I've taken a frog with 200% movement speed and a Roo with 141% movement speed. Not the same amount but the frog has more.

I've jumped without sprinting, Roo went farther. I've jumped while sprinting, Roo still went farther. Roo>Frog

Not to mention Roo jumps higher as well.

ive seen video footage of a roo jumping off the volcano and clearing the river and surviving..barely but still surviving. so fall damage for them is a lot less of an issue than for frogs and other leaping creatures in game.

I have to say, though, that I love my Roo and my male deer (whose speed I've pumped) for getting me places fast. My mega has enough melee damage to protect me from a number of dangers as well. They're both great for metal runs.

Roo and toad are both fun mounts, imo. For quite awhile I was thinking my male elk was a waste of a saddle engram. Then I tamed a 120 male and took him out for a spin. It was different and fun. I have to say I really like it, although I don't think I would take one into Giganoto territory.

Their walking speed is 1500 which is faster than the faster sprinter.

They don't need stamina to out run anything.

Edit:Correction, the fastest sprinter is now the Procoptodon at 1785. Used to be a Rex at 1472
