Zuljin from pooping evolved server has had luck with a small raft + dodec going through small rivers - swinging while driving collecting from the small round rocks
But for our tribe we enjoy the hour journey along the coast ;) good luck brother
Harvest EVERYTHING (there are tons of small mini rocks in the swamp that still give 20-40 stone each).
???
Profit (when I do this, I usually stay out for 2-3 hours because I convert stone into walls/ceilings).
That caravan is pretty much 100% self sufficient and with that setup you can bring home probably 15k weight worth of stone (if you just focus on that).
NOTE - I do this solo, but with tribe members would be faster.
if this is resulting in 15K weight of stone and your traveling in a swamp I would Highly suggest crafting a raft - adding 4-8 large storage containers which will hold 18-36K stone and u won't have to worry about the Dino's safety.
But again I love hearing all the different ways people approach this - the biggest tip I got from your post was
craft while you gather
^^^^
This is an often overlooked fact due to the initial added weight from materials needed for the end parts but not what ur gathering, - but will increase your time efficiency x10!!!
End note - the less time u spend traveling back and forth from base = more time gathering - ?????? - profit!
;)

One of the many benefits of living in the tundra - no bugs and no compies XD Smallest problem creatures you run into are wolves and cats, but most of the birds are level 100+ and tear pretty much anything to pieces. Only real problem is having them fly ahead and stop the mount, but having one bird following the mammoth and the others following that bird tends to fix it.
Not too sure when I will start engaging with water content, but that'll likely be when I start working along the coast again. Got tired of compy packs/insects spawning every time I killed something or flew out to scout >.>
Just had an idea off this as well, now we have no underwater tames so not sure on this but Anyone know what a lvl 100+ sharks weight is about? Would be interesting to have an under water drop point to hide from PVP players while ur out on ur dodec
I think i will try the raft idea sounds fun
