What's the best way to get cementing paste?

Been asked a million times already, but the most recent posts on the topic appear to be from Nov 2015, so I figured I'd ask again in case the most efficient strategy is something different now.

So, how do you prefer to gather cementing paste?

Step 1. Get a friend
Step 2. get a large predator, (rex oir spino but Giga works best if you can get one)
step 3. get a beezle
Step 4 wander into swamp and have predator driver kill something, and don't harvest
Step 5. Wait for meganuras to swarm.
step 6. Use predator to chomp the bugs (one bite to avoid harvesting
Step 7. Use Beezle to harvest bug bodies
Step 8. Move a ways away in the swamp
Step 9. repeat steps 5 through 8. until bored or you have enough cementing paste.

So some notes, eventually you'll get less and less bugs in an area and it';ll take an hour or so for all the respawns to fully replenish.

A large Circuit yields the most efficiency as you can get more out of a subsequent circuit.

The giga is the best because it will kill but cannot harvest bugs (we have tried) so it can chomp to it;s hearts content to protect the frog without risking waste of mega corpses, also it gives you a good perspective to see where the bodies went.

Try chomping directly down on the dragon flys warm to avoid excessive body scatter.

You can yield several hundred to a thousand cementing paste in a an hour hour and a half doing this.

Step 4: right click eat dead bug
Step 5 get home and take cement past out of frog inventory

While I agree you CAN do this it's not nearly as fast efficient or safe. my way there is zero risk involved (or at least very minimal, and the predator can kill the bugs far more efficiently and in large numbers at a time than the frog can.

We've tried it both ways and the extra steps yield larger reward for less effort with less risk.

The OP asked for the best method, in our opinion what i put is the best.

used to be frog then we got the melee nerf and I heard rumors that in one of the recent patches, the silent nerfed the amount of cp you get from frogs. I need to tame a newer frog as mine is tapped out and at lvl150 so I really have been hurting for paste. hopefully the rumors of the silent cp nerf are just rumors

high lvl frog does great at getting already made cement paste and lots of chit.
or you can go farm chit from trilos for safety but slow. caves with a wolf or saber lots fo chit but lots of fighting like the frog.
Bad thing with trilos or caves is you need 400 chit and 800 stone to make 100 paste. While with the frog you get get the same amount in 30 min or less. and get a good number of chit for crafting other stuff or more paste

brood mother is best way, being in a large tribe the frog was really slow feeling and it sucked in my opinion, we only used brood mother for her spiders to farm chitin. the frog was useless. idk after patches how things are now.

Frog. Frog4ever.

Easy few hundred or even more than 1k CP within short amount of time. And you also get a decent amount of chitin while killing the stuff with the frog.

I go with my frog with health up and melee and it works fine.. i get around 150-200 in 30min

Then you may try some other tactics.
Within 30mins I get 1k CP with my frog (only frog) o_O

frog can stay underwater for ages with air, and travels large areas without running out of stamina, combined with scuba gear (or flippers min) you really can become a expert trilobite hunter. its actually quite relaxing as well lmao

Only thing I don't like about using the frog is finding all the little buggy bodies that go flying off everywhere. I do need to get a better frog though, I only ever do short swamp runs, in at dawn out when it gets dark. Leave with a few hundred cp and chitin.

My tribe mate farms trilos while I fly with a QZ (Quetz) and a Doed to Herb Isle and harvest stone. we then meet back at the base and make as much as we can in less than an hour we get a few hundred C-Paste or so. the more weight on the QZ the better the outcome because the more stone it can bring back, :), 2 trips usually clears the isle but it is a safe place to harvest stone. if we want more after that. we take a frog and a rex to the swamp, rex kills something and we wait for bugs to show up and rex kills then frog harvests we yeild about the same amount in a bit more time.

C-Paste is a grind anyway you chose but a need none the less

Doesn't completely eliminate your issue, but ever since I started using a dead dino corpse to lure them out it's much easier to see where they fall to (because they clump up at first). Sometimes I even exclusively place the corpses out in the clear sand to make it easy to see the bugs. They can sense corpses from pretty far away as well.
