As for the doeds at the volcano if you are on an unofficial server the admin could try finding them. Things can fall through and not die instantly. If the admin uses the EnableSpectator command they can have markers showing where every living player or player owned dino is on the map and quickly fly to it. If its alive it can easily be found and recovered, just takes some usage of the commands.
I never had dinos standing on dirt, just die for no reason at all.
I know they are not starving because I feed them everyday and I know it's not a rouge dilo getting into my base because if it did my bronoto was set to neutral so it would have squashed that dilo like a bug, plus No other dinos in the base were attacked.
Something broke with a recent update.
Bags were on the ground with 14 and half minutes left on the decompose timer.
