How to target with frog
So the big deal about frog is that they can kill and eat the bugs..here is the problem..the bugs fly at a certain height, but their tongue attacks are well below that. Is there some trick to actually targeting the bugs? So many times I attack over and over and it doesn't seem to hit them at all because they are too high.

Right click usually gets them, its a sweeping type attack. If that isn't working maybe sprint forward and turn to face them and try again.

The trick is to kill something nearby and let them swarm on the corpse, then you'll be able to hit them all with right clicks.

The problem is he does that, but his tongue sweeps in front of him. They're a good 2 meters above that as the regular height they fly at, so it just seems to sweep under them.

Trick is to kill something to get it swarmed by bugs. When they attack the corpse, you can attack them then and it'll piss off the ones not at the corpse yet either and cause them to attack you so you can finish the rest off.

Getting them to attack me is not helpful because the frog doesn't seem to be killing them that well. That's why I'm asking. Last time I tried to fight 3 or 4 I had to get off and fight them by hand as neither attack seemed to be doing much to them at all.

Killing something and having the bugs swam use to work great. Now you need to becareful because frogs are not what they use to be. Things can get hairy pretty quick.

Usually, they aren't above a level surface, find the highest spot near them and right click. It sometimes takes me a few tries but never too many. Also, I've found it's best not to try to kill them too quick. I hit them once, and run in a circle drawing all other ones nearby. Usually kill at least 5 at a time that way. 10 or so at a time in the swamp.

Tame a dimo and have it sit on your shoulder. Dead bugs if the frog can't get them.

Your view angle helps to aim them some what with the normal attack. First person view seems more effective then 3rd person view. Try it on bigger dinos and you can see how it will hit a higher or lower spot on the depending on your view angle

Never had to much trouble hitting them once they are attacking me Unless I had something riding on my shoulder. Then the bugs seem to target my shoulder a dino and the frog can't seem to hit them much at all.

Also they are attracted to dead bodies so kill something close. They will go to it and eat it once it dissappears hit them very quickly and they should say in a group close to the ground. Or they will just agro on you after the body dissappears if nothing else dead close.

And of your lvled up frog is from before the nerf. Go tame a new one and re lvl. As it seems like all lvls added to tames before the nerf doesn't count. But a new tame lvls just fine.
