Can dino's starve while offline?
It's been a while since I checked... but given the whole stasis mechanic, do they eat while in stasis/when I'm offline? Multiplayer.

In sp they dont starve, on servers they do if tge server is kept active

if it is a mp server, then yes, they will starve. Even though you are offline, time still passes for them since the server is still running.

So stasis does not affect their eating then?

I thought they still went in stasis if everyone in the server for that tribe is offline or a completely different zone and the dinos aren't doing anything. Not that I mind or anything as I haven't lost dinos yet and when I am off for an extended amount of time, my friends keep them fed.

Unless the values for food consumption have been raised, it can take days or even weeks for a dino to starve on a server.
usually takes about 2 weeks for them to starve to death if i remember correctly

Time still passes for the dino regardless of whether anyone is on or not. The food still depletes at the same rate as if you were on.

dinos will go into stasis if nobody goes near them for some time, so I am not sure if this is correct

No, if youre offline and nobody else was near your dinos while you were offline they will NOT lose hunger. I logged off when one of our eggs was about to hatch, logged in the next day in the evening and the baby was already 20%~ bred (Playing on unofficial). Ofc it would have starved normally, but it didnt, sice there wasnt anybody around.

takes some time for them to starve, the other problem is the food, it will waste at a normal rate so it will be likely that the food is gone longe before they get hungry.

Stasis only affects their movement, nothing else. Food still depletes. Generators still go thru gas, preserving bins still use up their sparkpowder, etc...

Yes, it does take quite a while for them to starve to death. The food will last a bit over 7 days usually. The starving doesn't start until the food is entirely gone.
