First rule of ark is, You can't raid what you can't see. If you want to get established without weekly raids, you need to hide your base in the jungles and not harvest around them. This is where parasaurs actually come in handy. Set them to follow, take a 5-10 minute walk away from your base and harvest there, then return with the materials using the Para as a packmule.

some tipps:
- build only with metal
- seperate higher levels with hatchframes and use wooden ladders (so they get easy destroyed close to explosives)
- use multiple roofs
- building on a rock can be helpful so the big ground dinos can't munch on your base
- do not use 1 generator for a lot of turrets. if the generator gets destroyed all turrets are offline. try to make more individual stations with turret + generator.
- try to make the inside of your base a labyrinth. many doors, confusing build, ...
- build more vaults than you actually use.
- inside turrets are often more useful than outside turrets
- think about how to protect your outside turrets from dodo-bomb drops

otherwise. be creative. try to use your sourroundings to your advance. think about how to actively defend your base if you are online during the attack. even though most of the times you will get attacked while offline.

and in the end: every base can be destroyed. you can always just make it harder for your enemies.

Great points thus far! @MarcusMG multiple generators with inside turrets is fantastic! @Shawric "you can't raid what you can't see" - this can be applied inside and outside the base, awesome tips boys lets keep them coming!

I will also add to always at least have double walls, preferably with Agro Dino's inside the "pocket" - people can and will glitch through your walls - set narco traps, spikes, small bear traps etc with Agro Dino' to give em a surprise!

Together we thrive

metal base, lots of turrets and lots of members to help defend

still wish there would be some protection vs dropping tons of bombs/grenades from quetzals like the increase of turret range etc :(

Well the turrets normally shoot the grenades as soon as they come in range.

When building your base first consider location, where are you building in relation to resources and the the terrain around you? are you building at the bottom of a cliff where people could jump into your base or snipe down on you?(if you are unistall) Once you have settled on the base location build it in thatch first.(Yes I mean the entire base) Decide what you want it to do be capable of handling resource processing storage and defense wise and lay the whole thing out beforehand so you have no ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ later. Convert base to metal... Pillar the area within render of your base with metal pillars to prevent seige bases from easily going up. Set up your defenses so you can snipe out of your base multiple ways and from several angles.. Make sure you can physically defend your roof! Turrets buy you time thats it, only way to beat determined raiders is by actively killing them again and again and again... Plan your auto turret defenses so that they in groups of 3-6 able to fire at any one place so someone cant tank them 1 by 1. Always Always combine auto turrets with plant turrets.. When you set range set autos to medium and plants to high. Make sure you pincode all your turrets! and birds are your friends for active defense.. Dont put vaults up high because if they drop twice they break... Keep a minimum of 250-400 rounds in every turret at all times... multiple sets of your best flak 1000+ rounds of rifle ammo extra food medical brews and a few grenades.. Bear traps narc traps ieds and spikes and agroed dinos are pretty much useless. Dont design your base around trying to be confusing people are not dumb and building a entire dead layer means 9 extra c4 for a attacker which is nothing.. Your better off building batteries of internal turrets and double or triple layering sensitive rooms only. This comes from 800 hours of pure pvp and base building and design experience take it or leave it...

you just need to drop more to be succesful ; price is kinda low for the outcome anyway
many ppl just wont let you reach metal so ure likely down before a couple of times

Here I disagree... I have seen many cases where people did raid bases and didn't find the hidden vaults and stuff. Heck when an allied tribe of mine got raided which had a confusing base design, the attackers didn't find anything of value.

But this comes from only >2k hours on official pvp. ;)

Yes but what good is the hidden stuff when you've been wiped down to no dinos? All it means is your attackers didnt have the explosives to finish the job or they flat out didnt care...

You can keep fertilized eggs and kibbles hidden, so you can easier come back in the game. I think it highly depends on if you want to go with the strategy of "If I get attacked, I will leave the server anyway." or "If I get attacked, I try to come back." It of course also depends on the general situation. If you are a small tribe and have an alpha tribe oder big alliance against you that wants to get rid of you, you are pretty much ♥♥♥♥♥♥ anyway.

If you have a solid strength, and there is a tribe of equal strength that attacks you. Then a big base, with a lot of seperated rooms, hidden passages etc can help.

But if you just want to protect items, you can also just put 50 vaults outside of the base. Nobody will bother to blow them up, if most of them are empty.

Dino part 1

I saw quite some ideas here but some stupid ones to.

Killing
Use a dilo troopon combination maybe with a pegomestax but only if you also use auto turrets otherwise they are useless.

Both troodon and dilo are fast predators. The dilo still outrunnable the troopon isnt due to his special flying attack.
The dilo slows a bit and gives an unclear sight but the dilo is just an addition to make it more easy for your main weapon: the troopon who applies more torpor then a titanboa and knocks out in only 2 hits. Both are easy tame.

The pegomastax is to steal stuff from your enemy.

Leveling
Pegomastax: double/triple speed all the other points in health

Dilo: up his movement speed slightly. put other 90 percent equally divided in health and damage

Troopon: just like dilo, guy gots a scout option to, leave it alone in this purpose.

My experiences:
i put pegomastax on aggresive before calling them back quite some time, a very easy tame who once delivered me an ascendant crossbow

I have a room for my vault where i put this duo in and it helped me only once but it did (1/1 as the base is almost unraidable)

Otherwise
A carno can do, but focus movement speed upgrades.
Rex maybe a bit big, NO dilos or small stuff, think about atherinosaurus to, preferred even over the carno

Arthroplurea

Great defenders, thx to the acid blood. Carryable by an argentavis but when using auto turrets quite a good choice.
+ Good stats
+ Scaries players
++++Acid blood and torpor
++ Ranged

- carry by argentavis
--- very hard tame
- length
- lesser damage when armor is destructed
Tip
I would paint it green as its not high so hard to see, even if there is a name with so much dinos this one wont get to much attention

I would shoot it to died and do ranged circling to kill it as it has quite a large body

Keep it close quarters as its almost ranged weapon only thx to acid blood

To stop this level its movement speed and damage, making spitting more powerful
