A dino needs 80 hunger to eat it, dinos will NOT eat kibble unless it is their last option unless they are taming or being raised, and even then they will preferentially eat only their favorite kibble, and then only under the previous 2 circumstances.
If you personally eat kibble you won't get 80 food because you are not a dinosaur. If you forcefeed dinos kibble, they will get some food but mostly kibble is for those two roles and in those cases it is ALWAYS 100% of the time 80 hunger needed and then filled.
also keep in mind that depending on the hunger drain for the particular animal you are dealing with it may look like less because hunger doesn't stop dropping during the eating process.
