You are not alone. My husband and I have only seen one since the day they launched and we have searched relentlessly since that day. We couldn't tame it because we stumbled upon it by accident and had to return to base for supplies. When we returned it was nowhere to be found. I don't even want to guess how many hours we've spent circling the mountains on flyers and going on land mounts to all the locations mentioned in the forums. We have tried everything suggested like wiping all the wild dinos (numerous times), killing every dino in sight for hours on end on the mountains, mountain slopes, snow biome, black beach, etc. Now if only the Giga's were that hard to find, LOL!

i'm curious as to why they are rare spawns, what makes em so good that they share the same rare spawn as a quetz and giga?

My nephew has seen like 1 or 2 since they were released. Other tribes have tamed them on the server I play on, but I have yet to see a single one. I'm not sure if they're supposed to be this rare or if the spawning rates are messed up.

I don't even think they share that spawn timer because any given day, whenever we feel like it, we can find a Quetz, and any given day, whenever we feel like it, we can find a Giga. We've never not been able to find either of those two dinos, but I am going to guess we're well over 40+ hours looking for a Proc if you add my time to hubby's. It's probably more than that because the first week we were both on vacation and had all day/night to search and we play daily even now that vacation is over.

they are supposed to be rare. When it was released the devs said it was a rare creature located in the mountain regions of the snow biome, and sometimes found as far away as the volcano..

I've found around 8 within the first 3 hours of release, the higest lvl being at 114. I usually find them around and lower base of mountains. They seem to get stuck alot in rocks and trees. The best way I would find them is fly and put my render distance to low. This helps hide rocks, and some trees and leaving a huge amount of visible space from the sky to scout for the Roos since you can still see wildings. Hope this helps :)

I have destroywilddinos more than a few times on my server trying to get them to spawn. I have also explored the entire island multiple time looking for them. I have easily spotted dozens of quetz and giga in exploring for a Procop but not once have I see one.

Gigas and quetz are a lot easier to spot than a small kangaroo amongst the trees...

Duh, really? I am referring to rarity. I do fly close to the ground and often aggro stuff on the ground because I am flying so low. I think I am smart enough to realize that hunting a small marsupial is going to be a little harder to see than a giant bird flying through the air and a giant carno eating everything in it's path.

I see them a lot now that i'm not looking specifically for it, quite often in the northwest on te edge of the winter biome.

My place is located at 42 66, just below Frozen tooth mountain.. before the last patch only 1 was seen and tamed on the server, after the last patch i had 3 spawn just up from my base, and got one tamed up, but they are way too fast to chase on foot. And since then they spawn more regularly around the map, mostly around mountain areas. Also it helps if your on a friendly server too. I play on an offcial pve. Also in the wiki they claim them to be very common in the swamp which is just nonsense.. look around the marked yellow areas on the wiki.

Build a taming box. Fly around on an argent and pick it up, carry it back to your taming box.

They're pretty rare on my official server because people have built on their spawns. Maybe you should check to see if someone left something behind in their usual spawn locations. Still, I know of about... 6 tames so far (even though I haven't been on much.).

On my unofficial server which is about 10 days old, I see them so often I just kind of boredly kill them because we're not far enough progressed to tame one.

If your server is running the Small Dragons mod, it won't spawn at all. Other than that, all I can do is wish you the best of luck in finding them. They're about as rare as rexes, so not bad. Just very small when you're flying. Make sure to fly by the northern area of the West Coast in your circles, they spawn at The Point on occasion.

After days of looking without success I finally found 3 today!

One hopped into the water and drowned, one literally vanished into thin air, the third I tamed, a lvl 84, yay me :D

They were all around the edges of the snow biome.

We have our village on the west coast just south of the snow buome at the giant rock. I spent 3 hours flying around on a speed quetz looking for one. Never found. Got back to village. As i flew just north of the giant rock to the waters edge to see if there were any alpha raptors. Boom proc, just hoping around all happy go lucky, til i snatched him up and dropped him into our pen.
