How do you kill a wild Giga?
I am playing singleplayer!
I tamed a 44 giga a few days ago, I got it stuck in a mountain region, and spent 135 tranq darts to get it down... Happy to get it home, took it out for a ride, and managed to enrage him twice, both time killing me :D
Now, a few days later, I noticed 3 other wild gigas circling around my base, and I'm afraid to take Giga out to try to kill them all!!

Hoe does you guys take care of the gigas?? I tried with my 228 Quetz, but it almost died after 2-3 bites!! I am now making a platform with 6 plant x on, hoping to kill them with that... but .. in the meantime while waiting for them to grow .. and suggestions???

I don't want to remove them, nor forcetame or anything .. I like having the "terror" in the game, but I also want to be able to handle them... I don't mind a rough struggle, but in the end I want to be able to get them down!!

I can understand that I can't take on all 3 of them at the same time, even when the roam almost together .. So ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ one off, lure it away and take it down sound like a good idea .. only thing ... is .. how?? :D

either lure to water or you quetz with plants are the only ways I've seen
ok! thanks for the reply .. so my assumption regarding having to use plants on my quetz was the only way was right!! Thanks alot! I saw it on sl1pg8r in season 2, but this is the first time I will use it :D
oh, I can't lure it to the water, I live on the beach, east of snowland, just at the edge of the ice .. so I have 4 feet to walk to start freezing lol!! Giga turn when we "beachwalk" into the water :D
Cheers mate!

The most effective way I've heard is tranqing them out first, then hitting them while they are knocked out.

But if you've got a Q, just hover above them and pound arrows into them.

We are on an official pve server and the giga is the worst thing that ever happened to it. At first people were all excited to tame one and so some did. But in the meantime, as people worked on taming them, they were kited to nearby bases and many dinos died.

I think your best bet is the x plants. Good luck!!

You should find the closest water source to the Giganoto.

....Then jump your character in the water and stay there until you drown.

Good luck. :summerghost:

Cover your Quetzal in as many plant turrets as you can, and shoot them until they're dead. You could also drown them if you're close to water. There's no way to kill them in an actual battle.

I have 300 Oxygen. I have a lot of time to contemplate life before the ocean takes me! :SpaceJelly:

Reminds me... I should really Mindwipe now that I have Scuba gear... Hmmm

ANYWAY!... Best bet is to try drown yours- erm. Drown the Giganotos.
Given how you finally tamed one yourself, I wouldn't suggest you lose it trying to fight other Giganotos.
People have mentioned drowning them or quetz plant storming them. I've argued that the fact that these are generally the most suggested solutions shows that the Giga is still pretty broken as both of those methods require using an abuse of stupid AI and half finished mechanics.

In that spirit let me give you a simpler tactic that is completely within the spirit of the two already provided. Admin spawn yourself an Ascendant Rocket Launcher and a bunch of rockets, put it in a container that says break in case of giga, and when you have giga's that need to be removed, use that.

hehe .. sadly admin spawn goes against what I want to do in the game .. then I can just forcetame, ride it far into the ocean, leave it there and let it drown :D

Rather try to do it without any form of admin commands :D

Hahaaaa! We are totally on the same page. I've said this many times in the past too.

Introduce some kind of cheap method of aggravating players and wiping weeks of hard work in minutes with little in the way of legitimate counter? Well players will just find a cheap method of getting rid of it.
If you won't play fair, neither will I!

Drown ya bestard! Drown!

that's the problem with them as they currently exist. you have to abuse something or other to deal with them. I only use admin commands to repair or recoup the damage done by bugs, drops, and "out of player control" losses. I have come to see wild Gigas as one of those things.
:D
Fair enough :D

I will steadily wait for my deadly plant X to grow and do my bidding .. and wave (hopefully) those gigas goodnight :D
