How to get Rare mushrooms?

I am aware that you get them from swamp trees with an ankylosaurus. i am currently taming one. can it be the trees on the outskirts of the swamp or does it have to be trees deep within the swamp like the ones in the water. And how easy is it to get mushrooms? or how much will i get?

ive gotten a ton of crystals and i havent gotten any mushrooms yet. i need a lot to tame a procoptadon too

You can get mushrooms from crystals. Use a metal pick.

You will get a lot of mushrooms from those very odd trees that look like they are walking on their roots that are in the swamp. Not sure what to call them but they look different than normal trees. Good luck! :D

Grab a buddy, a quetz, and a mammoth and head to the swamps. We came back from our run with over 1k mushrooms on a 5x server and it didn't take more than 20 minutes and got mushrooms from almost every type of tree.

Mangroves, or rather the swamp trees. Also, the red topped bushes that look like reeds and spawn around water ways (common in the swamp) drop plenty of flowers and mushrooms.

Actually... You don't need an anky. My group and I got lucky at level 20 and found a lvl 92 trike. Knocked it out, tamed it, ran through the swamp to get levels up and just smacked every tree in existence there while getting shrooms from it. So far 36 shrooms! :D faster than getting em from crystals imo!

well i got about 90 rare mushrooms from those swamp trees. now the hard part will be finding a kangaroo i guess
