Trying to find and tame a raptor

Hello,
I am a level 13 singleplayer and since I unlock the raptor saddle at level 15, I wanted to try and tame a raptor before I reached level 15 in order to get to ride asap.
However my main problem now is finding and knocking out a raptor, most the raptors I find are mainly level 25+ which are too hard to knock out at my level.

I was just wondering if you guys knew of any places on the map where I could find a lonely raptor with low level, if that even exists?

Any tips on how to knock it out are also appreciated.

Depends on your difficulty level, I think.

The lowest level raptors I recall seeing are around the floating green obelisk. Not directly there, but in the plains nearby, specifically south and north it.

I've seen Carnos and Titanboas north of it, so be careful.

Lvl 25+ is Fine. Use a bow with tranquil arrows, will only Need a Few arrows to knock it Out. Try to Build a Small House Near to the Raptor, Shoot it from there

I dont have tranq arrows yet, neither a bow, i believe tranq arrows are at level 20. I found 2 in a sarco but that was it.

Dinos can spawn at every lvl in their spawn area. Collect some Stones about 100 build 2 slingshots or one and take stuff to repair with u. Look for any lvl raptor. Run to a near stone formation and jump on it. The raptor cant reach u and you just shoot the stones st his head. Even an lvl 100 works with that easy. But u should also take enough time to farm narco berries and raw meat from creatures around you. Good meat sources are phiomas for the start. Okay the are running away. But if they run into an tree or something. They are easy prey.

On the island south west, just south of an obelix (starting zone), there are usually 2-4 raptors (in the woods and along the beach to the north east on the island.

There are some good rock formations that should allow you to slingshot one down without it reaching you. (Or you could just wait till one gets stuck in a tree, even if thats cheating abit, still, its up to you).

Also forgot to mention, be very careful with them once you get them. They die pretty easily to anything their size or larger. Even when you get other Dinos, their speed often puts them into fights before backup arrives leading to a swift demise.

After a long journey of dying, dodging and killing spinos (stood on a clif and shot my slingshot at him). Dodging rexes as well. I finally found a knocked a raptor unconscious, he was level 1 so i didnt have to jump on top of anything. I found him at )65;85). so south east coast.

how long does it take to tame a lvl 1? a lvl 16 trike took more than an hour and i really dont wanna put myself through that again :p

My tip: Raptor is a wrong step in your level.
Take a Trike to gether berrys and stuff. Build and level first.
With Trike you can geter 200Nacro barrys in short time. Building from it nacrotics will give lots of xp.
Your goal are nacrotic arrows. Then get Pteranodon.
So... leveling is very important. Hunting is not needed. Simple build stuff.

Building a boat will give 1 level

Leveling with hunting is more dificult as leveling by building.

How fast can a trike gether 200 narco berries? Give me an estimated time.
Cause I had a trike once, but it is so slow and it died, I never tried to gather with it.

A trike gathering 200 Narcos is probably gonna take a couple of minutes on 1x gather rate I'd have thought.

For serious, berry gathering woes end with a trike.

Raptors are fun, but I dont bother with them until I get to Tranq arrows because the risk of death trying to slingshot a decent level one is too high.

Parasaur - > Trike - > Raptor tends to be my normal progress, as Trikes up your combat power substantially with their knockback.

And of course, when you get a Sabercat you'll never use your Raptor again..
