Anky unable to farm metal? and custom recipes?

What the heck? My anky can attack metal nodes but i get nothing? Using metal pickaxe works though !

What happened to custom recipes??

What did i miss?

it seems to be a no gather bug. also had it yesterday with my ankylo. was farming like 8k metal ore and suddenly couldn't destroy any rocks anymore with ankylo but still with my pick.

How do i fix this no gathering thing? Get a new anky or wait for patch?

It's a gathering/farming bug with ankys, doeds, mammoths, etc.. Been happening for a while. Was terrible at one point but thankfully it's not too bothersome these days.

Solutions seem to be:

• Fly/run far enough away where your dino, etc., disappears and has to re-render it when you get nearer again.
  
• Unclaim/reclaim (risky if someone else is around that isn't a friend) so do that quickly. ;-)
  
• Climb up a rock whilst riding your anky (or use your quetz for this one) and fall a bit. Needs to be a free-fall not just a steep decline. I found that doing this often worked early on but is working less and less these days. Still worked, though. Did it with my mammoth (Deforest Whittaker) yesterday and it worked. Just took three attempts. The quetz trick is obviously just to pick it up and drop it a few metres. You don't need to take huge fall-damage so no need to go bungee-less jumping from anything!

A pleasure, guys. The second one was something someone mentioned on the server I'm on. The third option was my own thinking after I noticed that it happened mid-farm and I'd just had a huge shift in height (say, swimming to the other side of the river to farm more then maybe clambering over rocks). It got me thinking about if the game didn't realise I was properly back on the ground yet. However, we still farm berries so that didn't make sense but the dropping off of the rocks did the trick! Bizarre old bug, this one.
