The only thing you need to do for a baby dinosaur is to keep food in their inventory. That's it. Health and food will fluctuate as it eats. The dino will not be at 100% health once it hits fully grown and able to have a saddle put on it.
Shows 3 hours 45 minutes of keeping food in its inventory for it go from a baby raptor to a juvenile raptor. From there, another 33 hours and 45 minutes to fully grown. Use cooked meat in the feeding trough. It doesn't give a bonus but it has a longer decay time plus it stacks to 30 unlike raw meat which only stacks to 20.
You should really take the advice to read the wiki... Who knows how many other things you are doing wrong???
