Depends, what are you looking for in games like these?

lol. The Isle. No Bias.
I've never played The Isle and know only a little about it but I highly reccomend Ark. Just make sure that your computer can handle it as it hasn't gone through much of an optimization phase yet. I love Ark; I have never played any other game as much as this one or enjoyed it as much. I can't reccomend it enough; just understand that it is an alpha game so there are some balancing issues and occasional glitches that you have to work through (mostly just occasional small annoyances). If you do decide to play, I do reccomend that you stay off official servers. That is were most of the problems are and you will have a much better playing experience if you find a good unofficial server or start your own server. My sister and I play on out own server and it has been fantasic!

the isle is basically a "Dino Walking Simulator 2015(?)"

ARK Is a grind-fest
The Isle has pretty much nothing, but it isn't a grind-fest
Isle.

12 hours on record... your opinion is not valid. This game requires a lot of time to play through. You clearly haven't even scratched the surface.

You don't even have the isle.

I have both games and i say they are completely different...

You can't compare the two since each game is vastly different with a different focus, ARk is more of a building survival sim in which you have the freedom to basically do and build almost whatever you want.

The Isle seems to be more dinosaur focused, while humans will be added in their are major limitations to what they can do, you can't build an epic fortress in the Isle, I doubt there will be any farming or overly serious crafting system either. And thats fine they are two seperate games doing two seperate things, the only similarity IMO is the heavy dinosaur focus.

As for what to buy, ARK has more, much more content, while being poorly optimized, this game(the isle) currently runs better but right now there is really nothing to do at the moment. So take your pick. I would and have bought both.

^ This. It all comes down to personal preference.

I have both. Unfortunately, if you think this game is unbalanced? The Isle is worse.

The Herbivores are insanely OP compared to the carnivores. Also, there only seems to be one really active dev who keeps releasing skins week after week. Luckily, you'll be looking at a small balance patch once or twice a week most likely from Dondi. Not sure what the others do unless they are working behind the scenes.

There are pluses though for the Isle. The models and the sound effects and dino animations are top notch quality. There is not much content right now and only very basic systems in place.
