well ill just try it in singleplayer later then, just gotta search how to spawn an alpha
Bear traps currently do not trigger for alpha animals (tested on Alpha Rex).
Against player dinos they are more for immobilizing than killing. If alpha raptors or carnos are a problem a good trike (by which i mean one tamed at least level 60 and has been leveled into health, stamina and damage)can take care of that. You can also use a wolf or saber, but that was always riskier to me, as those two don't have a trikes knockback. A 60+ tamed rex would also be fine against alpha raptors or carnos. If an alpha rex is the problem i'd say you either need a 120 tamed carno with a bunch of levels, or a 120 tamed rex to handle it. Tried an alpha rex once with an excellent wolf, it went great until the rex managed to turn and bite my wolf back. Wolf was able to outrun the rex easily.
You could also go with an argent, ptera or quetz and have a low risk battle. If it looks like the thing hits back too hard just fly away.
