can you lure alpha's into beartraps small/large?
would be supercool and come in handy^^. im always too scared to kill alpha's, i either bait them into the house and kill them with a spear through the wall.
or i get onto the raft, my friend shoots an arrow, and we kill the alpha raptor through hit & run on the raft.

but just thought about the beartraps, unsure tho if they work , did someone test it yet? theres small one's i guess they are for raptors, and large ones for carno/trex ?

any info would be appreciated.

i dont think it wil work you cant even grap them with argent/quetzals and trust me if you want to risk with a rex better have someway to run away FAST on idea is run to a herbivore dinos like bronto so the alpha will attack it instead of you :P

Why must there be? I mean you don't want to try without already knowing if it works. Maybe everyone else is waiting for someone else to try it first too...

Almost certain you *can*, but it will immediately break similar to all other PvE dinos.

From a website i use for my ark info http://ark.gamepedia.com/Large_Bear_Trap
Bear traps currently do not trigger for alpha animals (tested on Alpha Rex).

Against player dinos they are more for immobilizing than killing. If alpha raptors or carnos are a problem a good trike (by which i mean one tamed at least level 60 and has been leveled into health, stamina and damage)can take care of that. You can also use a wolf or saber, but that was always riskier to me, as those two don't have a trikes knockback. A 60+ tamed rex would also be fine against alpha raptors or carnos. If an alpha rex is the problem i'd say you either need a 120 tamed carno with a bunch of levels, or a 120 tamed rex to handle it. Tried an alpha rex once with an excellent wolf, it went great until the rex managed to turn and bite my wolf back. Wolf was able to outrun the rex easily.

You could also go with an argent, ptera or quetz and have a low risk battle. If it looks like the thing hits back too hard just fly away.
