I'm not usually one to complain, it's a game in development, however I'll admit I failed to read the part unofficial servers could run the event. I joined Official server #1 for a few hours, when 12 est hit, and nothing happened, was a pretty big let down. I'll take the blame for not reading I could have started the event on my private server. but I was interested enough to join an official server, and collect the reward. Only to have it not work. Thanks Devs for trying, happy new year.

I dunno, i think its crazier posting stfu on a forum and sayign we dont have family or friends to be with. You must be posting this from a family party or something then maybe. Some of us are in game enjoying time with family AND friends cuz not all of them live in the same state. Its kinda awesome :)

Thank you devs, it was very cute. However, in al honesty it was not worth waking up at 6AM filled with anticipation. But yeah if I lived in EST I wouldn't complain.

Relax. Not missing much if you miss this. The ball lands, there's some fireworks and music, a message on the screen, and everyone who is logged into the server and alive at that time gets 3 top hat helmet skins. It's nothing major or worth crying about, just a cutsey cosmetic item as part of a cutsey mini event.

Give the devs some slack -- they're still trying to figure this stuff out, and they, like us, are human. I'm sure by next new years, they'll have these event things going nice and smooth and on time. This is still the first year of ARK, still in development... some stuff is gonna be rocky, and silly, and wacko and buggy. Some stuff will suck, and other stuff won't suck. That's jus how it goes. The thought and desire to celebrate was there, and that is much more than a lot of other games (especially in development) care to do.

And for those of you that are sad about not getting top hat skins... I'm sure there will be another way to get them, sooner or later.
