Problems placing the industrial cooker
The first one i made was before the patch where you could run water to it but now that I am trying to place a 2nd one for a friend it wont let me place it anywhere unless there is a pipe already there. Now we cant seem to get one placed in the cooking room at the right height so its way off the ground where it says we can place it. Why do you need to place the water pipe first thats really stupid.

Anyone have any info on this issue because not being able to just place it on the ground really sucks.

You need to connect it to a waterpipe so it's irrigated. Place pipes where u want to place the cooker and it should connect by itself.

I know that but what I am saying is in their house no matter how we place the pipes it will not connect unless its jacked up way in the air. Why cant they make it so you can place it on the floor then connect the pipe like it was before it had water. I built mine then and when they added water I ran the pipe from the cooker to the water now you need the pipe there first and its only snapping in really stupid places.

Yeah, this is making me insane - any word on whether we will eventually be able to place the item we want power/water run to, and then work backwards to the source, which would make VASTLY more sense? And be less rage-inducing. :)

Yeah I would like to see something about this but I have not been able to find it yet. All they need to do is let it be able to snap to the floor like it was before when I put my first one down then I ran the pipe system from it to the water the way it is now everytime I tried to help my buddy put one down the only way we could get it to snap its floating way off the ground which looks really dumb.

I just place a cross pipe on the floor and it will snap to it. Pipes snap to the base of floors so I don't have much problem.
[EDIT] My house is made with pillar/ceiling. But I have previously snapped pipes to foundations.

Been trying that on his house but it still wont snap right for some reason. This problem could be solved if they just let the thing snap to the floor again there is no reason to do it this stupid way.

They should do it like with the generator, you can place it and snap cable to it or you can place cables first and snap the generator to it

Place a horizontal pipe down first where you want it. And with out any pipes ot can connect to. Then the pipe will half clip or more in to the foundation or ceiling you are wanting the cooker on.

1 place pipe where you want the cooker.
2 place cooker on the pipe.
3 run pipes to water or connect to pipes you already had.

i first build a cross shape pipe, then i put my cooker on it. the other side points out through my wall so easy to connect to a river/sea/whatever

that's how it looks like from far http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=579641207

and that is what u want http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=579642050

1 side inside ure base (with cooker) and the other side outside, ready to be conencted

I understand what you are saying but what I am telling you is that for some reason in this guys house it refuses to connect to the pipe we have on the floor it only connects to pipes that are way off the ground. Why do they need to do it this way what was wrong with the damn thing just snapping to the ground like every other thing does.

Then something is wrong with his house lol. I have placed 3 of them with np. Using the way I posted.

the cooker works like a tap, it can only be placed on either the middle (making it hover in air as is in ure case) or on the end of a pipe (in my case)

I know what you are saying it works like but why did they need to change it to that? Before you put it on the ground and when the water patch happened you just connected a pipe to it thats what I did in my house and it works fine but for new ones you need to snap it to a pipe. Why did they need to change it to this. Why make it more complicated and offputting to place?

because it functions as a water tank. for a water reservoir u also need pipe first, then put the reservoir on it. don't ask me why, i did not invest it. but it's how it works and noit so hard to deal with.
a bigger issue is the limited placing of pipes and cables (we can't turn their angle in the direction we want) i rather see that problem fixed
