it works on my macbook pro mid 2012 :l

Most macbooks don't come with a dedicated gpu unless it's one of the most expensive ones. You likely only have integrated graphics.

Woops, it's a late 2011

specs:

Prossesor: 2.4 GHz Intel Core i5

Memory: 8 GB 1333 MHz DDR3

Graphics: Intel HD Graphics 3000 512 MB

Can I run ARK on my computer?

basically no. your integrated gpu is to weak.
Guavaberry6 Dec 25, 2015 @ 11:14am
it shows this message:

The global shader cache file '/Users/macuser/Library/Application Support/Steam/SteamApps/common/ARK/ShooterGame.app/Contents/UE4/Engine/GlobalShaderCache-GLSL_150_ES2.bin' is missing.

You're running a version of the application built to load COOKED content only, however no COOKED content was found. Consider cooking content for this build, or build and run the UNCOOKED version of the application instead.

I can't buy a new computer, is there any way around this?
Acandri Dec 25, 2015 @ 11:34am
only if you can buy and install a dedicated gpu. your Intel HD Graphics 3000 512 MB is your problem. its very weak and has only 0,5gb of vram (1gb vram is minimum for the game)

Thanks for that Acandri, will look into it.

Sorry dude there is no way in hell you are running this game on that system. Maybe later when they optimize it.

theres no way to upgrade your GPU, as with 99% laptops its built into the motherboard(the 1% being Asus's new gaming laptops with external GPU capability), you will need a new machine with a dedicated GPU.

for future reference, being a mac fan henders your gaming capabilities, as even with thier most expensive desktops ($6000+) they are still equipped with mid range GPUs.

I work in stage design and lighting, visuals engineer. I work with a guy sometimes that is a huge mac fan, after being frustrated that my $1800 desktop massively out performed his $3000+ macbook. he got frustrated and bought the Mac Pro cylinder thing, and became even more frustrated when my desktop out performed it as well.

Youd need a new Laptop/PC, Intel 2/3/4 is simply not good enough for ARK.
Request a refund

Macbooks are good at a very few things, gaming is not one of them.
