heck i never had to worry about the cold unless I wanted to ... New people have no choice. Not sure how much fun it would have been if it was like this when I started.
Survival:Game = the fact that it is a game would hint towards some kind of enjoyment. spending more time next to a camp fire to survive rather than exploring and gain experience doesn't sound like much fun
I hope they end it soon for the sake of new players
yes this is my opinion
All map be cold not works fine especially for the new ones.
it's just to stupid .. ok for those who's had the game for a while but not for someone just starting ..
i guess some people like to have that im the best at everythin feeling before bed time.
Good post.
To add to this.
It seems that the development is focusing on end-game/mid-game content. These are the players that they are getting responses from and where they have a 'large' player base. Also, these are people that invested in the game so should be listened to. Fair enough so far.
They are making one big mistake. By making the game less and less newbie friendly, this is where the buck will stop. The money comes in only from new joiners. So this game needs to become more approachable.
My suggestion to devs, add newbie zones where high levels get instantly attacked (on aggression) by high lvl dino's to prevent them from entering. This is the WoW approach. It's proven.
Oh and I'm looking for the delete button on the 'winter wonder land'. Where is it?
and to make things worse i wont be at all surprised if they release the game retail and all the people who's play from day one in EA stage get to keep there lvl and everything that they got form EA giving them a massive avantage ...
just would be best to reset the whole game and make everyone start from scratch with retail release.. see how many people that upsets lol
The people so called whiners care about new players who are having a bad experience of Ark because this event.
but putting the game on sale to get new players then putting a winter mod on to give all the hardcore players who have been playing ARK from dayone more of a challangen or what ever
this is not the best way to get new players new to this game or type of game by making it an totally unenjoyable exprience from the set off...
gawd knows what they where thinking ? one smoke to many ...
so its not whining its feckn stupid period.
Well in all honestly, I assume it's all been addressed with a great deal of thought.
The thing is though, and I know this from my own profession, you cannot as a developer or creator feel the experience that the end user or client has.
You will never know what it feels like for someone who comes into the whole thing blank, as it's your baby. Imagine looking at your own baby, imagining it's someone else's. That is just impossible.
And they are listening. They just aren't listening to the newbies yet. Which in comparison means that they are listening to the adults (mid/end game), but are neglecting the children. And the children are the future.
Yes, another rant done ;-)
If any devs read this, I would greatly appreciate a 'I've read this' response. Nothing more :-)
