ark uses more storage than it should

hi i just want to download ark base game with 1 dlc ragnarok
but i noticed that the base game is already 130gb
bc i remember this being 80gb just last year
and the only big update that came out in the mean time is the flying giga thing
its also not single player files checked those only have 500mb woth of that

It's been approximately 125ish gb for years. Rag map will add to that.

actually Undead_bob is correct. I have been playing ark for years. and I just reinstalled it(or trying to) and now its taking up almost 400Gigs!

This is without mods. and i even took away some of the maps....

It NEVER used to take this much space. Also im still downloading it. and my D drive continues to get filled. While its downloading. When it already saved the space......

125GB for base game , maps add more , so do mods.

I know this i been playing ark for 7 years, and had my own servers. Ark never used to take up this much space for BASE game and maps.... No mods installed yet....

If it's over 400 GBs, it's because all the dlc's are enabled. Turn them off or it will keep installing them over and over. You have to do that on the preferences for the game.

When the game finished downloading, i got 300gb of space back. THAT im not sure why.

The game remained a buggy, bloated, problematic cash cow until the "reinvented it for you to buy again" came out, with none of your purchased DLC mattering. I have 1600 hours in the first ARK but that does NOT mean I was happy with the product or what was delivered, Sleazy Dev cash grab game again.
