Lost Island Ice Wyvern Nest/Eggs Not Spawning
Hello!

I've been running a modded Lost Island server for a few days now, and it's been going for 110 (ingame) days.

For some reason, no nests or eggs spawn despite there being female wyverns around.
This isn't a solo server, so it's always running even when players are offline
I've also tried luring wyverns back into "nest" zones and checking back in later.
I've tried wiping wild dinos and waiting awhile.
I've even tried going into the (already broken) collision walls of the ice wyvern trench to see if maybe they're behind that because the only time I've ever seen a wyvern nest, it was inside the wall underneath where it would normally spawn.

I've never had this problem on Ragnarok, Valguero, or Fjordur the last few times I've played, it seems to just be an issue with either my server host or the map itself.
Has anyone found a fix for this? I'd love to get a few wyverns but nothing spawns. I've seen fire/lighting/poison wyvern eggs in the other trench but those seem to have stopped spawning altogether too.
The server is hosted via Dathost, if that helps.

I'd like to try to see if there's a way I can get an egg with minimal cheats; or at least ones that don't directly affect my gameplay (as in wiping dinos occasionally).

Any help would be appreciated, thanks! :)

1. Modded games can have discrepancies with such things, especially if you're using a mod that replaces wild dinos with its own version. Ones that for example are broken and replace wyverns could account for the issue.

2. When you hunt for eggs on any server, the best method is either to kill(not wilddinowipe) the wyverns flying around OR lure them AWAY from spawning subzones. Eggs are tied to the spawns of the wyverns(gender doesnt matter in regards to whats seen flying around). You then need to leave render distance, wait and then return.

3. Some times, unfortunately, the eggs are spawning but due to the poor mesh collisions of various maps and the nest asset, they'll fall through them or be imbedded just under them. Whips in some cases can help but if they've fallen/spawned too far under that wont work. Also too if undermesh anti-meshing system is turned off this allows dinos/eggs to remain under the map without the system purging lending to more of that issue in some cases.

Which variable(s) are contributing to your issue remains to be seen.

If it isnt your server and someone else owns it(seems you are though since you said you did an admin wipe), you'll need to communicate with that server owner to see what may be done or what may be transpiring.

Best of luck.

I lucked out and found some good lightning wyvern eggs. No ice wyvs, but I'll use them to try killing/luring away ice wyverns to see if that helps. Thank you for the response!

Grats. Again though if luring you need to make sure to lure them pretty far away to the point their original spawning area is pretty much out of render distance. It then will have them despawn (mimicing as if killed) and then causing the spawn area/nests to also respawn eggs etc too.

Obviously too if you find eggs you dont need, you should destroy them and as well lure/lill the wyverns away obviously.

Perhaps it's one of the mods I have, or an unlucky bug with the map. The ice trench has no wall collision, and no eggs spawn there. The fire/poison/lightning works just fine. Maybe it's just the server? I've tried everything else, including clearing ice wyverns and staying within render distance for awhile to give them a chance to respawn & lay eggs.

Thank you anyways! :)

So i think you are onto something with the no mesh under the 3rd point. I have a server with no mods but some commands and one of them is the no mesh collision so we can build a little easier it would make sense why they are not spawning properly. I will remove that anti mesh command at startup and restart the server I will check back here but it might take a couple days cuz wife unfortunately. Hopefully I get to help someone 10 years from now that has this same issue lmfao.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
