Best place to farm?

I am currently after a indrustial forge but I cannot get it because of its ridiculous materials. Metal. Where on earth would I get 5k metal for me to cook? 400 polymer?! Breh I can barely get my hands on 200. Half the time for PC players wouldn't you get raided? Do you guys know a amazing location or mountain for Obisidian and metal because I have just ate two whole mountains.

5k metal can be had in 2 runs from the tall mountain in the north west. Obsidian can be had at the smaller mountain beside it.

If you can't properly secure your loot, a industrial forge is the last thing you need to be building.

The industrial forge is for processing large quantities of metal and you are complaining that getting large quantities of metal is impossible for you. So you need the industrial forge for what?!?!

I'd rather use my standard forges... can get about 8 in the same spot as the industrial one (2 stacks of 4) Simply because they are cheaper to make, and I always burn wood in them for charcoal

Sure you can make charcoal in the industrial forge, but it always seems like a waste to me (the gas is better in my fabricator and generators... or the industrial cooker for dye/meds)

If you go into the arctic and kill penguins then harvest them with clubs you get organic polymer which works as polymer. The metal like folks said, at the peaks of mountains especially, and on the sides. Get a bird to transport it so you can farm faster, by bird I mean argent. Lvl it up so it can carry a decent amount. Also, if you get a Ankylo and lvl up its melee dmg you can farm tons of metal, supposedly. The best way to lvl up dinos is through shared XP with a tribe member, crafting high tier things or rafts.

I can make 2800 ingots in about an hour using 3 gas. That honestly is 3 trips on my quetz to the mountain, which cleans off the mountain.

I too did 2/3rs my build with 2 reg forges, but have expanded n setup my defences with that output.

I have a quetz with platform and yes I have a ankylo. However the metal gain even with 6x harvest rate is terrible. I'm getting about 80 per hit. And half of that goes to getting new mats for extra people and replacing my items. I have 6 peeps currently . I am currently moving my base since my old one was close to the mountain but I dried it and got about 800 metal. I'm moving next to the volcano. But I don't understand my melee damage for ankylo. My friend on his world has same settings and he gets 200. I get 80? My ankylo is better than his? (Just tested today)

if you have a 6 x gain and 6 tribe members even if you are all harvesting even by hand you should be getting about 600 metal every 5-10 mins. ive recently been on a 5 x gather server and was doing 600-800 metal using a pick and my argent to carry every 5 minutes then 10 minutes as i cleared mountains in 1 hour i was roughly getting 6000-7000 metal in an hour then dropping into 6 forges to smelt. I cant understand with 6 members or additional people you cannot do way more than that

Well now I don't understand your complaints. You have a quetz so you have no problem with transport. You are on a server with 6X harvest rate?!? Those of us playing on a non cheaty server no longer feel sorry for you. Even 80 per hit is darn good. The fact that half goes to extra people and what not is a whole different issue and has nothing to do with the mechanics of the game. If you are next to the volcano and can use that as your resource, then you should have it made unless you are just a really bad player. Your initial post sounds like you are complaining that the requirements of crafting an industrial forge is ridiculous and impossible for you to attain, but everything you just described to us on this forum sounds like you should have no problem getting those materials to craft it. You just admitted you can farm the metal, transport it, your next to the best sources for both metal and organic polymer. Dude, what are you wasting our time for?!?
