What are the best places to get silica pearls?

I don't have scuba gear or a underwater cave to spawn at, any where thats shallow to get it? I have a ichthy but can't go underwater for long.

snow biome, alot of the pearls are in shallow water ways surounding the biome. check mostly on the north and west sides of the biome where the biome and normal island meets

Trilos also drop them. You can find them in the shallows or up on the beaches. Look for reefy type areas around the shorelines.

Northwest shores around 35 5, pearls are in shallow water and lots of little ice flows. I haven't seen many sharks and most predators don't wander out there. Set up campfires on the ice islands to keep warm.

Personally I was terrified of the ocean. I built a nice boat, and went north, they are practically on shore. I Lived on the beach side of the green obelisk, got a boat set up, taming gates, campfires, wood and thatch.

Bring tons of food though. You may want to invest in a phomia, then feed it poop to grow your crops.
Leave them for a day and BOOM 100 carrots for your trip

I did this and I have tons of electronics.

You don't need scuba. Just cook some Lazarus Chowder...

It is sufficient to reach the under water caves if you got an ichty. Should even be enough without a mount, though you will have unpleasant company that way.

"Best" is relative to your capabilites/server.

1. Beaver dams that havent been harvested can have hundreds of pearls in them along with paste etc. Unfortunately beaver dam creation is spotting and can be nigh impossible on some servers.

2. At the edges of the snow biome(its east and west shores) where the line is between transitioning between warm and cold, clams are easily found in shallow waters. Only trouble is that there are often large carnivores in those areas so harvesting may be a challenge for lower level folks.

3. Killing trolobites in shallows along various coastal areas when harvested can have smaller numbers of pearls.

Beyond those 3 is the underwater/scuba requirements that you've said arent viable.
