How can I place more foundations on my raft?

I'm trying to place foundations, but they don't connect at parts that touch the water.

Place a ceiling instead then you can snap a foundation under that ceiling

I tried doing that, but it kept saying that it was obstructed. Do I need to place a ceiling to a foundation then a foundation on that ceiling, or is it possible to put a ceiling without putting a foundation?

You place down all the foundations the boat will allow, from there you snap ceilings off the side of the foundations so they're just hanging over the water, then you line up your foundation under that ceiling and it will snap.

This will not work with thatch only wood tier and above.

You place down all the foundations the boat will allow, from there you snap ceilings off the side of the foundations so they're just hanging over the water, then you line up your foundation under that ceiling and it will snap.

I use wood. I need to place all foundations the boat allows? After that, how can I drive? Can I remove the foundation that blocks the part to contrl the raft?

Yes you can remove the one foundation. Or even not placing them.

That's really cool. I'm relatively new to the game, can you explain how this is done. It's not 100% clear based on the current description.

place the foundations it allows then place cielings around those foundations so the overhang the water then get in the water and place a foundation directly under and attatched to the overhanging ceiling so they touch and line up perfectly then repeat to the size you desire.
