Tamed rex vs alpha raptor
So I have a level tamed 50 rex with about 3000 health. I was lucky to tame him. I trapped him on a weekend morning when I had the time complete the tame. He saves me a lot of time farming meat. I don't want to lose him. Can he handle a alpha raptor? I don't want to risk it without consultation. It would be nice to get some prime meat though if an alpha should approach my base.

Be careful, a lvl 16 alpha raptor got my 110 (at the time) trike to half health and I had help with a friend on a lvl 70 ptera. I had my trike as a tank with investing heavily in health and melee.

If you time your attacks right and have a good stamina pool (or stimulant/stimberries a friend can feed your dino) you never have to take damage. The knockback raptors take from a rex is decent and it will prevent any damage from transferring onto you this is how I take out alphas (though now I prefer my giga)

I killed a level 12 Alpha raptor yesterday with a Rex. This Rex has 6.5K health but he only lost like 400 health in the process. I was also attacking the Alpha from a river (lured it there) so it would keep swimming back to shore while I attacked it.

A rex should have no trouble with a Alpha Raptor, they should be a speedbump for a Rex, an Alpha Carno/Rex may be tougher, to take those you'll need atleast 10k health, I'd recommend trying to obtain a higher lvled Rex with alot more base health (for Carnos and Rex)

I can take out alpha raptors with my weight-leveled 150 argent. Your Rex should destroy them.

a 50lvl Rex is about even with a ;lvl 12/16 Alpha raptor if you just straight up fight it. If you can get the knock back you're fine, but alpha raptors are speedy buggers.

My lvl 60 rex faught a lvl 78 alpha raptor. Nearly died when it managed to get past my knockback until I got it out from under me. Went up 13 lvls from that one fight. Now its like lvl 80-90 and I know how to time my attacks

Basically, time your attacks or you might be in trouble, if you time it you're fine

Lure it to water, you can stand where he has to swim, negates his speed which is what makes them dangerousm getting under your knockback.

Luring it sounds a bit dangerous. I would have to lure it on foot toward my rex.

I lure mine in the water, then shoot it in the head, when it's on low health chomp it.

So a little update. I have since seen a few alpha raptors around my base, and I have a new problem. My rex is too slow to engage them. :) They don't aggro on you while you're on a rex, and they wander super fast. Once I get near them they have moved on. I suppose I could dismount, and then re-mount, once I got aggro but I was too chicken to try it. If I died my rex would probably die too.

Just dismount and stay on top of the rex when the raptor aggros on you it will stay at the feet of the rex jsut hop back on and bite then it attacks your rex

Today I killed an alpha raptor with my lvl 206 terror bird (2K health, 440% melee damage), and the bird only loose 1/3 of his health. I think a rex can handle this...
