What stats for my first spino? Hactched a 194 just now.
Just hatched a spino that I got from a friend. I've had very high level rex's but I want to try spinos. For anyone who has had high level spinos, how did you distribute their stats? Some speed or stamina? How much HP is ideal too take on a 100 Alpha Rex? I know I'll level dmg, its just the other stats I'm not as sure on.

His stats at Lvl 194 are:
Health 5460
Stamina 1365
Oxygen 2535
Food 7280
Weight 570
Melee 290
Speed 100

Honestly you can kill an alpha rex with what you've got now because of the fast rate of attack plus the range advantage they have over a rex. It'll take a while so I would boost your melee as high as you can get it, if I were you. Stamina isn't a huge issue because in water, they have infinite stamina, so it really depends how far away you plan to be fighting from a deep water source.

So first don't take this advice at all. Unless you are fighting the Alpha Rex in water.

2nd, Hello! :)
Im glad to see you got pretty much ever good stat from the egg. (I have a spino with 10k food but like that really matters)
So here is the thing, I do a lot of theorycrafting and test in SP a lot. I like to Min Max. (Play WoW :P)

Any dino that you want to kill high lvl Alpha Rex's, health is the most effective way. This can also be said for tamed dinos vs tamed dinos. But it actually varies between Dinos. Cause of the lower base health of spinos. A full HP spino only wins between a few hits conpared to a spino with 50/50 in health/damage. Unlike rex's and thier much higher health pools which can be a difference have 10 or more hits.

Ill try and make this simple.
Alpha Rex: Base= 12000 health and 170 (100%) damage
lvl 100 Alpha Rex in where lvl are even, 15 points in each. 48000 hp and 175%= 297.5 damage

Spino A: full HP 25803hp 290% damage = 145
Spino B: 30 in HP 15631hp 30 in damage 464%= 232

It taks Spino A 331 hits to kill lvl 100 A.rex
It takes Spino B 206 Hits to kill A. Rex
Alpha rex deals 149 damge per hit, do to saddles reducing damage by 50%
It takes the Rex 173 hits to kill Spino A, 104 to kill Spino B.

Now Alpha rex does attack much slower and you can knock him back, so im not saying you cant kill a lvl 100 alpha rex. Also having 15 in both those stats will be pretty unlikly.
I would say the spino probably is around twice as fast attack speed as an Alpha rex, plus back peddaling and spino knock back help with taking less hits so:
Spino A does 290 damage for every Alpha attack. so it takes 165 hits to kill hit.
Spino B does 464 damage and kills the Alpha in 103 hits.

Thank you. This is very good information. Spino B sounds like my kind of Spino.

1k dmg = pre-nerf, good Job melting through the game.
