You can set the gamma dif on your graphics card's settings.

some have it enabled some don't if they do you can hit TAB then type gamma 3, or gamma 4 to increase gamma. then when it gets bright out hit tab and type gamma to go back to normal

I don't believe official servers enalbe it, although I play on our own unnoficial so I could be wrong with all of the updates.

Hit tab, then type gamma , then a number 1-5 , works fine on official

im not sure about official; but I have this Disabled on my private server. typing the command does nothing.

If enabled, typing the command (as your son did) works. has to be enabled via settings.

All alpha tribe trolls play with max gamma in the nvidia control.

If you dont do it you are just fodder for their Gigatrollosaurus.

Hmm at a closer look you will be that nevertheless xd

never understood why people have problems seeing in the night. is your display so bad? my display has a contrast of 1:5 000 000. i don't even use 70% of the brightness of my monitor and i can see ANYTHING at night. no changed gamma values in any settings or in the driver. is the game really so dark on your displays?

Are you running any launch commands? I was the same as you until I removed -d3d10 and the other launch options. It's super dark now, especially when it rains.

yeah i use 1 startup command: -culture=de :D i'm running the game on high settings on 1920x1080 on a BenQ GL2250 Display or or my other BenQ G2222HDL display. depending on which one is "free" at the moment

gamma works on official pve servers not on official pvp servers , the only option for u if it doesnt work on the server you are on is too increase gamma through gpu control panel

That's not working as intended. Default night settings are supposed to be dark enough to make torches and lights useful.

I'm using a gaming monitor that auto adjusts for night to make it more realistic. Even still I just use gamma 4 to cheat.
