but it would be nice to have npc around your klingdom or even a singel player senario
What I might suggest though is setting up a private server. "Dad" can be the NPC and make all the bases he likes. Of course, simultaenous play would require 2 (or more) computers.
I have almost stopped playing ark survival because its simply not a singleplayer game in any form any longer. I don't even know why they bother making it an option. Ark is a PvP mulitplayer game only in reality.
Try the forest, within a single day of playing singleplayer you will be much happier !!!

They do build bases in bush people mod.
Tho this game is focused on multiplayer, a full singleplayer experience is coming in the form of ruins and story / ascension / boss arenas, etc. The best idea is to have a private server with a competant Admin who can go around and make content to raid.. I think you could force tame dinos into the tribe who owns the 'dungeon' content and use those as stationary guards.
The caves seem to be the only real challenge once you get set up currently
If you want more resources turn up your rates. If you want interaction and not to die play PVE.
You are SO wrong here, it's hard to know where to begin telling you how wrong you are in your total absolute wrongness.
It is moving AWAY from MP, as more and more people turn to single player to keep playing. The fact that most of the MP player base are trolls, griefers, and alpha tribes who do nothing but kill new players because they are bored, and the recent addition of cages with no way to even kill yourself so YOU CAN KEEP PLAYING THE GAME is driving this -- any mechanic that stops a player from playing indefinitely is beyond stupid.
But more than that, you can't play alone in MP, it is simply not doable. Unless you are in a tribe, the game makes you a SLAVE...gotta log on and feed the dinos, gotta log on and check the base, gotta log in and make sure you have spark powder so your stuff doesn't all go bad, etc., etc., In SP, when you log out, TIME STOPS, and you can go to the beach for a week, have a LIFE, play other games, all secure in the knowledge that some troll hasn't wrecked your base, your dinos are still alive, the food hasn't rotted, etc.
And then there is the other moronic, unnecessary mechanic, that when you log out in MP, your body stays there asleep, unlike actual, well-thought-out survival games, where when you log out, you actually LOG OUT. Not an issue in SP, but in MP, it is a game-killing (and a player-killing) mechanic that is even worse that another player being able to restrain you and effectively stopping you from playing.
Imagine an NPC you can command to collect some resources for you, or do some basic protection, or handle trade/merchant stuff etc... I think that would be neat.
