Beaver Dam Info/ Location
Okay so I finally found a beaver dam after days of searching. From what I can guess the dams spawn at waterfalls most commonly, I'm yet to find other locations considering they spawn where beavers do. But if you look hard enough they'll probably be somewhere obvious.

Here's some screenshots and coords to help you get an idea of where and what they are.

Also it seems each dam is made/spawned by a specific beaver or atleast I think or it either works like beacons and drops do. The dams can get damaged by anything if it gets hit. When I looked in the inventory any nearby beaver started chasing me and they seemed really determined to kill me xD

So pretty much if you see a bunch of beavers near a waterfall or this place don't kill them and overtime one or more of them will make a including mixed amounts (randomized) of the following:

-Wood
-Cementing Paste
-Silica Pearls
-Rare Mushrooms
-Rare Flowers

When you loot the dam they will break and shatter so you'll have to wait for a new one to spawn.

EDIT: Any nearby beaver will attack you if you try loot the dam :(

Any info on whether tamed beavers make dams? (Probably not but it's still worth asking)

Nah tamed ones can't make them they are purely spawn by wild ones and can get damaged and destroyed.

Would be cool to gate wild ones into a waterfall area and force to build dams over time ;)

Wish they spawned faster but the beavers seem to stay around the same area especially water. The ones near that dam I found are circling the area so I hope they spawn another :D

Might be able to not sure if they spawn there though all anyones found is near waterfalls and the wiki also just says that.

This message is for Noice, I went to the location that you pointed out by the green obelisk and they were no beavers on the area nor a single dam as well. Also I have travel the entire map looking to the areas where they are spawning and there isn't a single dam being built, what can you tell me about it?

I feel like it is worth noting that in addition to the already rare spawn rate of the dams, they have low HP and garner the attention of any other aggressive dinos. Even when they do spawn they typically don't last long. I assume this may get some tweaking eventually....maybe?

However I wouldn't expect them to ever be easy to find due to the large quantity of rare resources in them.

Ex. I found 300 something cement paste in one along with a bunch of other resources a few days ago.

One thing i want to know , what should we do to trigger theirs dam making process ?

Leave the area till they are no longer rendering , or park near them ?

I'd guess we would have to keep them safe and alive lol, after that it's all a waiting game since it is a rare spawn. Probably better to stay away from them out of render distance, don't know why but I've seen dinos fight and they were still fighting until I came back long time later into render distance where one died.

They build damns(or the damns spawned) while I was in the area.

As a rest, at the falls near the green obelisk, I spawned in a bunch of beavers. Before I could even leave the area there was already one or two damns there, about the upper falls.

They built a total of 4 on the upper falls, including 1 on land.

After getting my butt kicked harvesting the first one; I tried to grapple out, but the grapple does not work if you are encumbered, as I learned the hard way.

So, I kited them off of the falls, looted the rest of the damns; after recovering my body.

Then, below the upper falls, they have since built 3 more damns.

Got to try to lure them to the lower falls and off of that, to harvest those three.

Some dams can get glitched through landscape or wood floors to prevent opening. We removed the floor of our dam building area to prevent unlootable dams. Here is a video of where we have been able to get the beavers to build on our PVE server. Server is vanilla with 2x taming. No other mods used and no cheats used either.

Hope this helps. Enjoy.
