Pillar mechanics

Is this suppost to happen? I'm trying to upgrade them to metal, the stone doesnt seem to want to demo itself when being upgraded.

Have to destroy stone when going to metal...it really sucks. Just for pillars btw...walls and ceilings actually replace.

When placing the metal pillars over the stone, they dont actually occupy the same space. So when you upgrade from perfectly placed stone pillars supporting ceilings, you are left with the poorly placed pillar nubs from the shiny new metal pillars. ARK DEVS WHY?

Replaced the new metal pillars with stone again (they demo when downgrading...) Still left with disgusting nubs, and now this. This games building system needs work.

I was able to replace mine ok. Found I needed to demo the floor first, then the pillar. Replace the pillar with a metal one then place the floor.
