Austroraptor
Common Name: Austroraptor
Species: Austroraptor Picistrucidator
Diet: Carnivorous
Temperament: Skittish

Wild:
Austroraptor Picistrucidator is one of the few non-avian dinosaurs found in the colder parts of the island, and is even more unique in it's semi-aquatic tendencies. Stacked ontop of all of these oddities for a theropod, they seem to have developed a stamina reducing venom, usefull for hunting the smaller, faster fish of the ocean. It is surprisingly shy for it's size as well, fleeing from anything it cannot eat. The Austroraptor is mainly piscivorous in diet, although occasionally they will hunt the Kairuku that live near the shores. Austroraptor Picistrucidator, unlike any other theropod on the island, is seemingly more at home in the water on land. Surprisingly, they are not that fast on land (In fact one of the slowest creatures while terrestrial) but are a blur in the water, only out sped by the Ichthyosaurus while swimming. This is allowed by their rather sleek coat of feathers, strong leg muscles, and webbed feat. This is extremely evident with it's preference for fish meat.

Domesticated:
Austroraptor is mainly used as an aquatic battle scout, due to they're incredible speed and stamina while in water, as well as its unrivaled ability to hold it's breath paired with it's stamina draining venom makes it invaluable for underwater hit-and-run tactics. Another perk of using an Austroraptor while exploring the depths is its extremely high internal body temperature, and is thusly able to keep it's rider warm in the harsh depths of the ocean.

Good job I like the idea of a aqua raptor and I have liked the Austroraptor since seeing the Stomping Land pic for it and watching it being modeled on twitch. I would def use these guys since I love basing in the snow biome.

Thanks man! I got the idea because some people don't want an actual seal in the snow biome, so I made this to fill it's niche!

It would be interesting to see them take the role of a seal, maybe they could collect organic polymer really well since they have adapted to eating things in the snow biome like the penguins.

Also this might make them a bit op but what about either a stamina or torpor venom? It could make sense since most of the things it goes after are very fast in the water and the venom would help it conserve energy and heat. It would get in a bit or two on its prey and if its too big or fast to kill the Austro just has to sit back and wait. Like I said might make them a bit op but I really want to tame a snow biome Austro with venom so I can call it a Baggi lol.

Maybe not the torpor venom, but I like the stamina idea. I'll see about it. Or possibly give them the bleed mechanic.

Yeah I like the idea of stamina venom better then torpor, the reason I suggested torpor is because I don't think stamina venom like the kind used in the titanomyrmas and meganeura effects wild animals because I think wild animals have intimate stamina?, or am I wrong. Either way the venom would still effect players and their mounts so it would still be useful. So yeah I think stamina would be more interesting then torpor.

Also have you considered what type of tame it would be, would it be knockout, passive or the new troodon type of tame(sacrifice tame).

Knockout. Don't want it to get too complicated. BUT it prefers prime fish meat to normal meat. In fact, let me type that in.

Nice yeah I loved that they finally added prime fish meat, can't wait still the saber salmon is added in. I hope they add prime fish to other things as well.

Here are two pics of the stomping land austro if you want to take a look, one is concept and the other is a un colored model. It would be interesting to see it with some webbed features to aid it in the water.

If I were to put one in-game, I would give that one more penguin-like feathers, webbed appendages, and an Orca-like color scheme. Other than that, I think it would fit right in! (Of course, they would have to stylize it a bit, to fit in the game.)

Agreed. Maybe Walrien. It would have an ice-type attack that could insta-kill. Only the chair woud be immune.
