HOW TO MAKE TAMING FASTER!!
First off I want to say that you should make a back up of your world before you this.
Second, this is basically for the people who want the achievement, so PLEASE DONT comment "won't this make your already tamed Dino's eat faster?". I just thought that sharing this would be a bit nice for the people new to the game. Also you should have Dino troves placed and filled.

There might be some people (like me) who want to tame the dinos they want, but they either don't have enough resources to do so, or they just don't have the time. Most people just turn up the taming multiplier, but it is still a bit time consuming and resource heavy. I finally found a solution (maybe someone else has, but I haven't seen one yet).

1.When you are about to load into a single player/dedicated world, you have the settings on the right. Crank up the taming meter (you can also type in the box to make it go higher than 3x)
2. Turn up the "Dino Food Drain"
3. Load the world
4. K.O any tamable animal and BOOM! The animal will be tamed in no time

Okay, now lets explain this.
When you have the taming multiplier turned up it (obviously) makes the taming faster. When the dino eats, the taming meter will go up much quicker.
Now what the dino food drain does is it makes the dino's food drain faster.
From my experience, the dino's food has to drop at least 80 points before it east something, so when the food drains faster the food with drop the 80 points quicker.

Thanks for reading this, feel free to give this link to anyone who wants to tame high level dinos. :steamhappy:

You do realize that setting the dino food drain higher just also makes your dinos starve that much faster as well right? It's usually just better to just turn up the taming multiplier instead.

Yeah, but for those who don't have other dinos

I was expecting something further optimised than kibble taming when I read this post. Suffice to say I am disappointed.

Babies would die pretty soon after hatching, if food draining was turned up too high.

This is not the most helpful post ever.... the taming multiplier is there for a reason! Dino food drain is an option to make it harder to play the game. When you have tamed the dino then it'll need 1000 berrys every mile you walk or 1000 meat. It doesn't make any sense.

And you might as well cheat and forcetame them if you want isntant taming..

I play solo only on LAN Dedicated 2nd computer.

I have tame set to 2x and Egg laying to 0.25 ( 4x faster ).
note: 4x might be a bit fast IMO but then you can just get more female dinos .

I use kibble for almost all tames because I have farms .

Im soloing too by the way .

Last night I caught a T.Rex in my trap pen , only level 40 T.Rex and I didnt have kibble for it so started farming Prime on my L102 Sarco .

Because my taming is 2x faster than normal it should only take me 1hr 10 to tame and most of that time was spent hunting snakes in swamps for prime meat.

Now if I had kibble it wouldve taken me about 35 mins to tame it .

HOWEVER ... After 40 mins I had to leave so I could have easily just shut down my dedicated server . But instead I used FORCETAME cheat to finish the tame .

Now I don't even need a saddle for forcetame but I made one anyways.

I just got fridge now , just need industrial cooker because I have a ton of eggs and cooking kibble takes a heap of time .

Suffice to say , to the OP , why change so much when you could just try taming the dino normally until you run out of time then Force Tame it .Even better if you are playing SP without dedicated server you can just leave game and it saves progress . You don't even need to muck around with settings at all .

If you use dotame instead of forcetame you will still need a saddle to ride it if you don't want to be to much of a cheat when you run out of time

Like I said, this is for the people who WANT the achievement, but they don't want to wait an entire day to tame

Can I just point out to people saying things like "all my dinos will starve" and "but i cant get that much food" that you can change all the settings the next time your about to open the world
i found this usefull for getting a lot of dinos just make sure you have enough food for while you are playing with the boosted settings. :)
