Baby Sabertooths killed

I had some babiy Sabertooths maturing, was doing some farming and saw 2 messages saying they were killed. I checked the area, all quiet but their mothers were attacking them even though they were dead, assuming they killed them. I had to put them on Passive to make them calm down. Is that weird?

They werent attacking them they were eating the corpses, some carnivores will do that if they arnt on follow and something dies near them.

carnivores on neutral will eat the corpses near by. That was the reason. Your babies most likely died out of hunger, if you did not see anything else the dead message.

You can't leave babies for more than a few minutes literally - they need to be loaded down max weight with food and watched continously until they can be trough fed.

If you have the resources - stuff them with jerky it lasts far longer and when they can be trough fed jerky is best because of spoil time.

Good tips, I got oil so using it for jerky makes sense.
