Fabricated Pistol
Worst. Weapon. In. Game. Seriously - a stone pick is a more effective killing tool (unless you're attacking a low level player). What the heck, devs? You guys need to rebalance that thing, stat! It has zero redeeming qualities.

u may want to use a fabricated rifle then or a fabricated shotgun or the longneck instead of it then, they all are pretty easy to make if u r a higher lvl

Stone pick has a melee damage of 16, durability of 40 and requires close range combat.

Fabricated Pistol has a range damage of 28, durability 210, clip size of 13 and a fast rate of fire from a distance. It can also have a flashlight attachment for blinding your target/night raids. A holo scope for better aiming (or laser if you prefer that style). A scope for long range pee shooter if thats your thing. Or even a silencer to get the drop on someone. It also uses one of the cheapest bullet types to make.

Is it a tamed T-Rex slayer? No. The saying dont bring a knife to a gun fight is the equivalent of ARK's don't bring a gun to a T-Rex battle. It's uses are in PvP taking down other players or small mounts.

I think the better question is why take a Fabricated Pistol over a Assault Rifle. It weighs 7.5 less? Assault Rifle has double the rate of fire, 1.4 more dmg per bullet, i think even a faster reload time (makes no sense for a pistol to be slower to reload), a magazine of 40, the durability is its only weakness at a measly 40 but by the time thats used whatever your fighting is dead. Most dinos included. It also can have all of the same attachments minus the long scope but if your sniping take a sniper or longneck.

I think the fabricated pistol is in an ok place, but pistols are usually quite modifiable. To give it an edge over the assault rifle for situations and tactical raids maybe it could be the only weapon able to have multiple attachments? A flashlight/laser + holoscope and silencer would make it a flexible weapon.

I play on hardcore now so the one thing that makes it amazing over the assault rifle is that it unlocks 5 levels sooner, so at least you get a decent weapon for 5 levels!

Fabricated Pistol has to empty a clip to kill a level 10 dodo. Not an exaggeration. Something is wrong there.

The pick's dmg scales with melee dmg, btw. Not sure if a pistol does - I'm assuming not.

Every single fabricated weapon/more advanced version is not as good bullet for bullet as the lower. Simple pistol and longneck better than sniper and fab.pistol. They make up for it with higher DPS, although the problem I find is I have way more journeyman simple pistol and longnecks than their advanced equivalents so then the advanced ones are never used.

I'm aware that the non fabricated do more damage per shot. What I'm saying is the fabricated pistol isn't even worth using. Unloading a clip of simple pistol is far more effective than unloading a clip of fabricated pistol. By the math the fab pistol may be more effective - but go and test it! It's actually worse than unloading a simple pistol's clip - by quite a lot. So it's not even worthwhile as a hold out weapon. There is no role that it fills.

People tend to forget that the Fabricated Pistol even has a higher DPS (damage per second) than the Longneck Rifle. Now, the only time DPS does not apply is when the target is killed in a single shot, which is why people love the Longneck so much. However, let's create an imaginary situation. Let's say you have a 500 health target (for easy math). Let's say you have one weapon that has 100 DPS, and another with 50 DPS. The 50 DPS gun, however, deals extremely high damage per shot, but a slow reload time. So, according to the math, the 100 DPS gun will kill its target in 5 seconds (including reload times, as they do affect DPS), and the 50 DPS gun will kill it in 10 seconds. So, the only way the 50 DPS gun will win is if its massive payload kills its target in one shot. Even if the gun deals 499.5 damage on the first shot, if it does not kill the target, the higher DPS gun wins. Of course, accuracy can have an effect on the numbers. The thing with high Damage per shot weapons is that they're sudden, surprising, and harder to counter with healing. But the low damage per shot but high DPS deal more overall, consistent damage. It really is up to preference, but do not discredit these weapons as useless.
