Apple Mac with a GT 750M
I have recently sold my Gaming PC, unfortunately.
I want to play ARK on my GF's Mac.
its a 2013 model, i5 Quad Core 2.9GHz, 8GB RAM etc

The question is the GT 750M with 1GB GDDR5, will this run?

Also, I have never used a mac before, do I just download steam and install the game like I would on windows?

Thanks.

You can refund games on steam if you play less than so many hours, you have enough time to launch the game and see if it'll run at least.

I have launched the game on intel mobile graphics and it ....runs.... You may not get the graphics you see in streamers or trailers, but you'll be able to play.

And yes you just install game like normal on a mac using steam client.

1. my girlfriend has a 1gb AMD HD 6670 and it runs on low-medium on her 1440x900 monitor, just saying
2. it's his life. if he sells something he will have his reasons. no need to explain them to strangers on the internet. he just asked if the game runs on the mac of his girlfriend and it runs. On lowest settings but still playable

I played ark on a 750m 2gb ddr3, 16 gb ram and i7 4*** (can't remember) 2.4 ghz, on low medium (mostly low) and some launch options i was able to get about 25 sometimes 30 fps. This was more than a couple months ago, and game seems to be more optimozed since then.

I had a decent PC with a GTX 980, and had to sell to put towards a deposit for a flat.
All my fishing tackle had to go also :(

Im installing the game now on this mac, Ill let you all know how I get on. Thanks for the replies.

You should be able to run it on low-medium settings. 1GB VRAM isn't enough for high-epic settings. Even with my 980M, I can't run it on epic with a smooth frame rate, and my card has 8GB VRAM.

the end result is it doesn't run very well at all!
Low everything, reduced it to a window at lower resolutions, took all the effects off, still runs like crap... :(

Might have to buy it for the xbox

Have you tried the launch options?
Right click on the game, options, launch options, then write:
-USEALLAVAILABLECORES -sm4 -d3d10 -nomansky -lowmemory
Game will look slightly worst but you should get 8-10 extra fps.

I run on a slightly better iMac. Better processor and tons more ram (24GB.) It runs pretty well for me.

I only had 8GB of ram before in my PC, needed 16 imo but it ran maxed out at 2560x1080 normally at 30-40fps. all down to GPU though.

I can try the launch options thanks.
