Im beginning to notice a theme with these new creatures
So it appers that every new creature seem to requrie an great amount of attention even when the creatures arent all that great. i was taming a Lv8 Gallimimus on an official server for about an hour using advanced crops (i didnt use dimetro kibble because those are even harder to tame) and it was about to finish after i had used up 300 narcotics on it, so i left to check on my oviraptor which had gotton out of its cage, that only took around 20 seconds and when i went back the th Gallimimus it had woken up. i know alot of people are going to say "oh it was your falt for leaving it when you knew it was a demanding tame"and your right but it would be nice the devs just calmed down with making these new creature so demanding i mean for example a lv 20 dimetrodon takes nearly 2000 narcotics if your only using raw meat , while a rex of the same level only takes 240. and what do you get? a walking air conditioner that i would never take outside because it would die to easily.so all i ask is that the devs make it easier for us to tame these or at least make the lower levels easy so we can tame them for eggs. these taming requirement just really seem like to much for what they are

If dimes dropped eggs sure but it seems they don't like laying eggs. What they need is a dino that makes dinos drop eggs faster.

They do, it's called the oviraptor

If I'm not mistaken, narcoberries lower the TE of a tame don't they?

Unless they changed that recently, since I don't use the berries.
No they don't. They never have. They are linked to torpor not food. Food stat is the only part which helps calculate the affinity.

Each Remote use of a narcotic increases the torpor (read stops it from falling while increasing). So yes 1 narcotic increases more torpor but 5 berries will stop the torpor from dropping longer as the 5 berries will stop the torpor from dropping longer over the 1 narcotic. It seems to be better on faster dropping torpor animals to use mass berries.
Thank you. At least someone here knows what's going on.

That doesn't make it stupid. I'd take the lesser amount of narcotics that don't spoil, over the berries that do.

Personally I'd rather only dose a giga once while taming it rather than twice. You get double the amount of buffer with berries. Do you want to dose the dino every 30 min or every hour? Every 5 min or every 10 minutes? With a giga you either do 2 or 3 narcotic doses, or you can just dump 5000+ berries on and have an hour where you can guard it, or build a fence around, go work on another project, etc. Of course narcotics are good if you want something to carry that stacks well, but when I actually have a tame planned I will farm berries first, carry them in my quetzal or have another tribe member fly them in.
Again, I don't really care that much for a better torpor. Thank you for explaining it to me (and to Morice too), I still don't see how it is stupid. I would rather have something that doesn't spoil. Sometimes you don't find what you are looking for the day you go out hunting. So that many narcoberry runs, just to get a dino you are searching for for days? No thank you. Can always just make them into narcotics and have them sit in a vault. And yes I know, put in a fridge. Still like the non-spoiling narcotics. Dose a giga twice isn't bad at all.

Once my internet d/c while taming a giga. It's torpor dropped before I could get back online and so I lost some very prized flyers. Also it's maybe 5 swings of a bronto tail to get that much narcoberry, or get a greenhouse now with the new system. Both have their place, but you should try using the berries one time, especially for dime/giga/galli.

We are done taming gigas, or at least I am...I think 9 (with 2 babies on the way, so idk if we are going to have 11 or 9) is enough for one tribe. I'm kind of getting fed up with the gigas. Not taming anymore dimes, I'm breeding those. Gallis, I might use them....but the brontos are a pain in the ass to take out and no greenhouse made yet (am planning on making one at my personal base once I get it up). Though by then, I'll probably have a galli. And I usually tame them inside my tribe's base.

Some people think clicking "Remote Use Item" non-stop for 40+ minutes is a very entertaining experience.

I am not one of these people.

I don't know anyone that thinks this. I think it's more that the devs have confused "hard" with "tedious".

Alternately, join a server that has the timing reduced for taming.

This is masterful trolling, right? I should not need third-party software, real-world external hardware, and another human being to tame a dimetrodon.
Well you can just watch it intently. But then who's got your back if a raptor jumps in?
Honestly the torpor drops to zero in less than a minute, with server lags you can't time it precisely. You don't need an autoclicker but I use it to save my fingers and mouse buttons.

I've done them solo without but that method just gives you some redundancy in the process.
who needs to watch my back in my taming pen back in my base? if im taming dimets i have quetz kibble to spare and do

y not use a quetz and steg together? better least faster than bronto anyway and carries alot more

The fast topor drop make Dimetro-Gallimimus-Terror Bird almost worthless to tame.

I think industrial cooker guy got to the dino stats. Industrial grill guy has been locked in a closet for the last few dino releases.

Pretty soon we're going to need tranquilizing ballista bolts to knock down a giant slug.

You just wait for the Titanosaurus. You just wait...

We use a mammoth and quetz. Still don't feel like doing that...and the fact that most of the time that I'm playing, I'm alone.

If you put them in shallow water, they lay eggs like normal. On land they don't lay eggs very often for some reason.
Lol xd i have couple dimetrodon eggs and they'r just standing on a foundation in my base with water at the very back of my base
