I was taming one yesterday. I'd already used a bazillion narcs. I crashed, came back, he'd woken up and I'd lost the hundreds of narcs and prime I had on him.
Stupid lizards.
The second method is a lot easier. Get something that can hold a platform. Paracers are good for mid level although a quetz is best. Put a generator on it and a fridge or two. Gather as much prime as you can quickly and put it into those fridges asap as you gather. They should last 2 to three hours. Once you have plenty knock out the dimetrodon and start feeding it narcotics straight away as needed. You can try starve it for the whole tame time then once it's starved sufficiently enough you can start putting all the prime in. Chuck in a few stacks of raw meat as well just in case the prime goes off or you don't have enough.
If you have two people and a mobile fridge then it's too easy, just get the other person to gather another few loads of prime meat and put it straight in the fridges just before you are done starving the dino. That way it should be still fairly fresh once you dump it all in there. You really want at least a rex to help gather the prime, with the ultimate prime gatherer being the giga.
It's not that hard to tame them with prime meat, and they are more useful for their eggs. Opens the door for easier galli, terror bird, and beaver taming plus some of the future dino releases will rely on this link in the kibble progression.
What's the baby stage time for dimetrodon? Can't see it on survive-ark
Just shy of five hours, they don't wolf down massive amounts of food either so you can leave them for pretty extended periods after around about an hour or so.
Hmm nice, I wanted a few more might start stockpiling a few fertilized eggs.
