Tames waking randomly
It's happened a couple of times now, the last time was rather frustrating where whilst taming a dino it suddenely wakes up with plenty of torpor left. I've seen this mentioned in known issues way back in June, so this may be something different. Has anybody else ever experienced this? I generally set an alarm for ten minutes before torpor depletion just to make sure I don't forget, but even this time I was standing right next to it when suddenely at around 50% torpor the quetzal awoke and started flying off. Took off with all the kibble and narcotics and by the time I came back with more it was gone.

I tamed around 400 animals and NONE of them woke up while torpor was still above 0 (zero).

Maybe some funny guy came by and fed your quetz with stimulants while you weren't looking?

Only times my tames wake up is when I fall asleep taming them, which is generally often >.<

Ha, maybe, I mean I've tamed a LOT of dinos and only had this happen twice. It could well be someone did that sneakily I can't explain it any other way.

Well actually if you're waiting close to 0 that may happen if you're slightly out of sync with the server, I have known dino's to take up around 100 torp or less but that was when i let it drop that low, I now keep it at close to max in case of server crashes or my net dies, which is usually the only time i get dc's :(.

i had a tame wake up yesterday while tameing too, although this is the nly time it has happened to me was a pain to lose 2 hours worth of taming' this happened while the torpor was still going up, and it should have had 1000 torpor still to gain ehrn it woke

it's a known issue, just search the forums and you can confirm this. But generaly it seems to be a rare issue. It's unfortunate if it's happening to you a lot. I'd suggest you review the conditions under which you are taming.

It's likely to be related to the dino-rest code. It should be turned off once the dino pass's out, but if it idoesn't always get turned off it would explain this issue.

The dino reset code as far as I can tell is meant to help rescue stuck dino's. Something it doesn't do very well.

But players run into it most offten when tranqing a dino that takes a long period of time to knock out. A gigga, a high level bronto and so on.

Unfortunatly under unknown conditions it's affecting dion's that are comfortabliy sleeping as well.
only time ive seen anything close to this is with gigas and dimets. the super fast torpor drop can sneak up on you with just a bit of server lag but not random wake ups. hope you figure it out friend

Thanks everyone, now I'm not to sure what to think. I guess the best chance I have to avoid it is keeping the torpor full at all times. That being said, since it is such a rare issue it's likely it will never happen again, but it's better being safe than sorry.
