well i had same problems so i used ramps-sometimes they wont fit, sometimes they go trough the ceilings, but most of time they fit well.

Press the E key to flip it around while placing. That doesn't solve all problems as it can be very difficult to tell with the ghost image which way it's actually facing, but it makes proper placement possible at least.

Use the sloped walls to support the sloped roof.... even if you demolish it later, having them in helps it snap. Just use thatch ceiling/slopedwall as temporary support/snap mechanisms. That should solve all of your problems if my experience tells me anything. I kind of excessively build large structures.

And always be mindful of your support. It's wholly possible to build structures in this game that can be completely leveled by destroying one or two tiles in the right places.

For posistion of the cieling piece itself you just have to move around and change your camera angle, it can be a ***** but with a lil luck and time it should work. If this is the issue and it's a single cieling piece between two sloped walls try removing one of the slopped walls, it may make getting the right position easier.

For the right slope have you made sure you are usin the correct right or left sloped wall piece? I assumed you could rotate pieces my first attempt and didn't realize there was a right and left slopped wall. Lol

Sadly ark's building aspect has HUGE potential but still needs a lot of work.
