Our computers are beasts. That's not the issue.
Using a second computer to host. Joining via LAN connection, it isn't port forwarded.
There is no issue approaching my house, only when leaving. 100% chance to instantly timeout, regardless of altitude or direction. The only important factor is distance.
You can float around the loadwall, fly around the edge of it, even shoot creatures on the other side of it, but when you hit ithe invisible wall, you will freeze and timedout in less than a second.Afterwards you can rejoin. At which point, you'll be able to do whatever it is you left to do.
<Serverpath>\ShooterGame\Config\DefaultEngine.ini
Open in notepad. Search for "timeout". Adjust the number in seconds.
Save. Set file to read only. Take a backup as patches may overwrite it.
Default values:
P2PConnectionTimeout=300
InitialConnectTimeout=300.0
ConnectionTimeout=300.0
Give those a change. But you do have other issues if whilst loading the server thinks you're not responding. Perhaps you need an update to your BIOS, chipset and network adapter drivers?
Also try to minimise the number of structure pieces you have.
-If you have hundreds of crops why not just reconfigure crop yield server settings?
-Hundreds of individual wall pieces? Use S+ or other mods that have larger building items.
-Do you really need X quantity of a structure.
Thanks for the serious help.
-I've reduced the moving parts in my base by 50%,
-I'm still testing for the correct timeout time. 900 added an extra six seconds rather than instantly booting me.
90,000 didn't seem to help, so now I'm trying to find the maximum input. Any idea what that'd be?
These configs are common to other UE4 games as well.
