wild Giga vs. tamed Giga
I am in the Scotland area on Ragnarak and found 2 Gigas fairly close together. One level 24 & the other 71. So, for the first time ever, I was able to tame the level 71 Giga. So I put a saddle on him and started wrecking everything in the area.

Now, for other dinos, a tamed dino could kill its wild counterparts, so after a few levels I decided to go after the wild Giga. It was a level 95 tamed vs a level 24 wild, and it was not even close. My giga was destroyed before I saw any blood on the wild one. Is this normal for Gigas?

It does seem to fit my pattern. I tame something for the first time and almost immediately get it killed.

Tamed Giga's where nerfed quite some time ago, making them rather weak compared to there wild counter parts.

Not sure how far you can take it with breeding, but the gap between wild and tamed is rather large, so i suspect that even with breeding its going to be hard to match a wild Giga its stats.

Wild gigas has always been stronger than tamed ones since day one.

Wild gigas has a base health of 80k, whereas a tamed one loses like 80% of that health. Not only health is different, wild gigas also can cause bleed effect, making a tamed giga dead faster.

It is possible for a hatched high level giga with 100% imprinting to kill wild gigas, but it's absolutely not recommended as it can go south easily. Just lure it to water and drown, they drown in like 30 seconds.

Thats not true ''day one''

in EA, the Gigas had 310k hp wild and tamed had the same stats like wild. So yeah, they got nerfed pretty hard

So it is game mechanics and not me being an idiot. Me being an idiot in this game is almost a certainty. I get overconfident and I die.

thanks for the responses.

Nope, Day one the tamed giga got a decrease in stats. However it wasn't nearly as harsch as today.

More along the lines of 31 k hp, and 50% of the damage. Compared to the current 17k hp and 20% damage.

However this ment that back then high lvl gigas were far more capable of shredding wild ones if you got one with a good damage stat.
