Multiplayer for Ark... HELP!

So, my friend has been a huge fan of Ark, and finally got me to download the game for PC so we could play together, but we are having some issue with creating a server that would just us, or does that not exist in Ark?? Also, how do you multiplayer in Ark in general?

you can play on officiall server or someonce one server or you get your one server... but you have to pay for your one server

like singleplayer, but select the "local" one. and your friend needs to do "join game" (steam)

You can host your own Server on your own hardware for free, you don't even need to buy ARK to host a dedicated Server.

@OP
you can either run a non-dedicated server through the game but that would mean tethering (sucks but enough to try out MP), or if you have either a beefy rig or a spare pc you can setup an dedicated Server.

there is server types, select "LOCAL" and you can play with your friends.

All of this ^ .... you dont even need a very powerful pc if you are using a spare (not playing on the same pc)

Google Ark Server Manager and youtube it for tutorials.
