But honestly, once it gets caught up, using over 250 gb on a solid state drive for one game is just nuts to me, and SSD is a hard requirement. I doubt the servers will be very heavily populated, so you should get a very vanilla experience. The system specs are just out of reach for most average players, it's a 4-6k rig with all the inflation going on.
I play Cities Skylines 2 which is the most demanding game atm so I would be good with this one too. That's not my worry, but noob(me) playing game where everyone have years of experience.
New player can't tell a difference, to me both looks same except improved graphics.
Well obviously if you hop onto a PvP server it's going to be very hard to compete if you are a noob, it's like that with any game that has been around a long time. You seem to already know the answer. You can enjoy single player (what I do), PvE servers, or a private server until you know the ropes. But on PvP there will always be alpha tribes of many players trying to crush any one that could pose a threat. The good news here is with the better engine, foliage will offer much better cover as players can't run around in ultra low quality/max view distance and see everything. But you'll still have to worry about being hunted constantly.
Ok, thanks..., and how much time it would take for me catch up with others, if that's even possible in this game?
You'll level pretty quickly, could get to 60+ in a day if you pick up explorer notes and use the buff well. Since your talking about ASA not ASE, it's brand new, the playing field is level. Though they will know exactly what dinos to get first, where metal is, ideal base locations, kibble recipes, the best ways to farm etc. So you will fall behind quickly, but that is not the point. Just have fun, good bye and good luck.
One is a survival FPS and the other is souls like.
Worlds apart. in play style and how combat works.
Also to be clear... I said Ark and Ark2. Your reply to me seems to be referring to Ark:SA instead?
My point... Is if you want survival go with Ark:SA once its proven not to be a scammy let down. Early access is risky.
If you want souls like or are a lore sl*t like me... Then play both Ark:SA and then get Ark2 when it comes out.
No, I meant Ark 2 bc sequel of every game rarely change in gameplay. I'l check around to see comparisons between the two.
Thank you both for taking time to reply.
Don't waste your time with it now. Just play evolved, you will have more fun as it will work normal on your pc.
The Graphics are amazing.
It is not bad but on evolved you have many of great free maps and some nice dlcs if you want get them on sales for example.
ASA is sure interesting but it is just the beginning.
