Does anyone know if we can still play Ark:survival evolved if we buy ascended?
I have a friend in a co-op server we have that isn't buying the upgrade so it would be great if I can go back and play with him.

Evolved and ascended are two completely different games and not cross compatible. You can play ASE still and there are currently well over 60k unofficial servers out there for it. They'll still be there(unless players stop running those servers obviously) but ASA doesnt block you or some such nonsense form playing.

But no, you and our friend cant play together on ASA unless you BOTH get it.

Ok thanks just wanted to know i'm fine with that,I thought it was an update to the original game.
