I am playing on the first story map (island) with no further content mods.
Adds a thing called domesticated bee hives. Put flowers in, wait, get honey. When you harvest the domesticated hives, they don't try to sting you. Endless supply of honey, as long as you keep supplying them with flowers.
Takes giant bee honey to make them, but once you have 1-2 and a fridge, you can just making new ones until getting enough flowers to feed them all is a problem.
