How do I turn up brightness?
I know there is a whole debate about whether you should, but I play on a dim monitor in a brightly lit room (tropical sun) and can't see squat at night. Is there a way to turn up my gamma while playing on a official pvp server?

This does not work on offical pvp servers. Part of thr darkness of the night is to allow people to hide in the shadows. Tek tier apparently will have night vision googles or something similar.

If you have a AMD (ATi) Card you can increase the brightness in your settings in Crimson > Display> Additional settings > Desktop Managment > Desktop Colour and increase your gamma on that page, dont click apply just alt tab back into the game, when your finished just hit defult to make the settings go back to normal as it applys it system wide. I`m sure theres another way to do it in nVidia cards as well in there control panel.

BTW i dont play offical servers but gamma is set on our dedicated server so that how i fix the darkness problem when its too dark.

look at the floor and try to make out small outlines, then hit trees and make pickaxe and torch
Also- try and use the moon light or other light sources
Hope this helped :D
